my buddy blew a coolant hose on the highway. HE wants to know the exact refilling process for the coolant where to put it and what to do so that he has not air bubbles in the system. Thanks alot

Depending on how much he lost, the typical way is to begin with the motor off and cold. Remove the radiator cap and add a 50/50 pre-mix of distilled water and coolant until you can't fill it anymore. With the cap still off, start the car and let it idle. When it warms up sufficiently, the thermostat will open and you'll see the coolant level drop. Add coolant again until it's full at the radiator cap and then make sure that the overflow bottle is also filled to the correct point. Put the radiator cap back on to maintain pressure in the system and you should be done.

Hope that helped,

Andy

ok, i went over and checked on the progress and the engine will turn over but it wants do die really fast. if i rev it up it spins just fine, like nothing seized up. but when i let it idle it wants to die and sounds like its running on 2 cylindars at a time.
