-I have a short in my ignition system
-narrowed it down to the blue wire on the ignition harness going into the ignition switch
-blue wire:radio/wipers (per vfaq)
-the short is between the harness and the fuse boxes, my ignition switch fuseable link
(30amp)blows but the radio and wiper (10amp) fuses do not, therefore it's between the fuse boxes and the harness to the ignition switch b/c it never reaches the fuse boxes for the radio and wipers fuses to blow.
-when i disconnect the blue wire from the harness the car does not die from the blown ignition fuse and runs fine.
-dies when i reconnect it

My question is, has anybody else had this problem? I'm new to DSM's and dont know if this is common or if there is a quick fix for this. I might just hard wire the radio and wipers and bypass the original blue wire. Pleas share your thoughts. :thumb:

This is not normal and needs to be tracked down and fixed. BTW that blue wire also goes to 3 other fuses you didn't mention. Was anything done to the car that brought this on? These kinds of shorts are often in the nest of wires under the engine fusebox. Remove it and look for wires that are melted, touching another wire or broken. It's usually obvious if there. PM me if need more help.
