Okay first off, I've got the PTE SCM50 with the .63 A.R. option, internally gated. A very beautiful turbo indeed. First off, there is a water line that goes from the thermostat housing to an outlet near the oil pump housing (maybe it's a part of it?). The line has two rubber hoses on the ends, but the rest of it is metal. What you will want to do is buy about a 9" piece of 3/8" I.D. rubber housing, and use the hose you purchased to replace the hose that connects the metal line to the thermostat housing. Whether that move is necessary I have no idea, but I was in the middle of a clutch swap so I thought I'd blow more time LOL. Also, for the plug block off bolt, go to any hardware store and pick up the npt style fitting for it, I believe the size is 1/2" but I'm not 100% sure so I'll check for you guys. Also, you will find out that a "notch" on the compressor housing will hit the blocked off bung on the water pipe, preventing the turbo from being able to bolt to the manifold correctly. I found that it was unnecessary to dent the water pipe, instead, pull the turbo/manifold back off, and you will find a 12mm bolt that is holding the water pipe in place, remove the 12mm bolt, grab some channel locks and needle nose pliers, and bent it down so it won't interfere with the notch on the block that it bolts to. By doing this, you create about 1/2" of clearance for water pipe to be pushed against the block, which was just enough to put my 50trim on.

And for my tuning question...I've got blow thru with the maf-t v. 2.01, and my question is, can I overcorrect my injector size (let's say by 30cc's), and then use the dials to accomplish more accurate tuning. EX. My injectors are PTE 680cc's, and let's say I set my base settings to compensate for 710cc injectors, which is close to 1.04 times larger than my 680cc's. When I turn the WOT knob to 5% lean, would that mean that I'm only making it 1% lean? Sorry if that's a stupid question, but I'm trying to find ways around an AFC. I'm not up for the light show

i run the 680cc as well....and i have been told to treat them as 650cc instead because the rating for x80cc's are based on a higher pressure. At our car's pres, they flow like x50cc's.
food for thought

With the MAFT the base setting is just a starting point.
Go to www.fulltrottletech.com and find the DSM forum for the MAFT and check out the sticky by KYLE. 720's are pushing the MAFT and could result in high timing. I got a tip from a member running 880cc inj's and he sets his up for 660's and then tunes it from there. With 720's you should not need such a drastic move. I did not check your mods or see if you have a 1g or notbutif you have a 1g get the Scanmaster. The greatest tuning device for the 1g IMHO.Shows data inrealtime as it is happening. like knock or timing advance. Great tuning aid. Anyways KYLE's tips are very good and will get you on your way.
If you have an AFPR you can use that to tune also. Mark

You don't need an SAFC, I do not use one, and I can tune my trims to damn near 100% on the money with the MAFT. I use a datalogger AND wideband for tuning, AFPR and Keydiver chip make it a little easier also. :thumb:

I knew the injectors flowed a little bit less. I do have an AFPR thanks to sweet97 slapping some sense into me a while back, and it's set at 43PSI right now. I've got a 1g, and that scanmaster would be a nice thing to pick up. Basically, I'm trying to hit 20psi, 0 knock, 91 octane, at 6,3XX elevation. I've got 3" exhaust, good sized front mount, etc. I figured 20psi would net mid to low 12's on pump, I'm hoping anyways. Of course my turbo is a 50 trim in case you didn't catch that in the title. Thanks for your help guys, I'll try and see if I can get a hold of a camera.
