HP gains if you cut off exhaust?

The NOISE that it would create is not worth it. Not even on the turbo cars IMO.

Well, I am talking about a turbo car, not mine. Anyways, the reason I ask is because I talked to a guy that told me he gained AT LEAST 50 hp by cutting the pipe right in front of the cat. I didnt believe him, but he told me its dyno proven.

It's possible to get 50HP depending on engine and turbo size.

BTW I ran with open DP once. It vibrated so bad it skipped my CD player. OMG

Later,

Not even 30HP. becasue his 1g exh manifold still sucks and his 1G O2 housing still sucks and his 1G stock DP still sucks. I'd say 10 at the most.

Later,

Id say 10 to 20, If you bypass the cat (remove it and install a racepipe) you'll probably get close to the same results without all the noise...
