WARNING: This thread will contain complete opinions. The 16g is good turbo, but requires an install kit. The up and coming Bigt28 is starting to get big and doesnt require an install kit. Thus many people will say go for the 28, but some will still say go with the 16.... its purely a matter of opinion. Thats all it is, as they are both great performers and will run very similar to oneanother...

i don't think i've ever heard of a big t28 KILLER, but if u are talkin about juss the normal Big T28, then id say go with the 16g. Cuz i don't know about your GS-T, but last thing i need is quicker spool up, my wheels spin thru first more than enuf with my 14b. Im actually upgrading to a 16g myself cuz i blew my 14b on friday. But supposidly they put out similar numbers, but since i already got the setup for TDO5's imma stick with em, so that's my 2 cents!!!

Well that all depends. do you want something to contend well at the track? If so go 16G. if you just want to tear up the streets, go T-28, I hear the spool-up is ultra-fast. AGP has some great turbos as well. I'm waiting for the L1R to come online so I can see what it can do. just a tho bro.

Comments on whats better for my 98 gst.

He isn't talking about the Big28. He is refering to the new 28 Killer from turbochargers.com. Do a quick search and you'll pull up a few threads discussing (or shall I say arguing) about this new turbo. ;)

If you are concerned about quick spool up spinning your tires, go with the Big16G. The killer spools up hella quick right around 2,700.

Maybe Turbochargers.com should rename the Killer, as anything with Killer is looked down upon. People with no experience with it first hand will bash it just for the name.

Than how bout the mutt ete 32. I hear lots of good stuff about it but the only problem is the price. Anyone know where I can get the ete 32 for a killer deal???

i agree you can get a ETE32 with install kit for about the same cost as an L2R. its kinda hard to justify buying anything but the L2r or any ball bearing gt30 for that price. if you must have a non ball bearing 50 trim hybrid. i like the ete32 for spool up and flow reasons. plus the internal 39mm gate works very well. at holding boost, as low as 14 psi at red line. just my .02

The alternate name for the Big T-28 Killer is now the ..
B.M.F.T-28.
We can call it whatever we want to but it,s still a B.M.F.
:D

Phoenix RSX, i kinda disagree a little bit with what he said. Not tryin to bash juss sayin what i think. He said that if u want good track times then get the 16g, but to tear up the streets get a Big28 or B.M.F. or whatever. I think for a FWD the 16g is the best bet either way, cuz if you are on the streets u are still gunna get the wheel spin in 1st with a BMF, and i dunno about yall but after 1st if im racing my rpm's never drop below 3k again, so spool is still instant once u shift, so the quick spool up i say will spin your wheels like crazy thru 1st, and the 16g will help out a little bit by spoolin a lil later, but after 1st you are going to have instant spool pretty much cuz 16g's spool at juss above 3 right? well when i shift into 2nd my rpm's are WAY above that so soon as i hit the gas then WALLA, boost is right there. Sorry that was long but once again, just my opnion. *BMF.... that now has a spot in history in my books!!!!!!

So the final call is just keep my big 16g??? I WANT MORE POWER though haha.
Then get an FMIC, injectors, S-AFC and fuel pump if you don't have one and start tuning. You can probably get much more out of your 16G right now if you had all the right supporting mods and did some fuel tuning. If you upgrade your turbo, you'll need all these mods anyway just to run something bigger.

If your 16G isn't ported, do it.

I've got the 660cc, s-afc, and fuel pump. w/ stock smic. My b 16g's ported and clipped.

I wouldn't expect to see much difference in the 2 turbo's...very similar. If you already have a Big16G and you want power, then you need to go bigger. If I had to chose on buying a turbo if I was stock for a 2g, and wanted decent power, not mad power, I would go with some 28 hybrid..your choice of vendor, ... because of its true bolt on nature and no install kit required. Even with a bigger turbo and lag, you can still spin 1st gear regardless. YOu have to decide what your objectives are. DO you want to run from a roll, or are concerned with going from a stop or at the drag strip. I also have a GS-T and run a relatively decent sized turbo. I know I'm not going to be the king of the dragstrip, but I will be putting up some nice MPH and from a roll on the hwy, lookout :) With a Big16G and right supporting mods, at best I would think around 118mph traps? Someone correct me here if I'm wrong. I think a guy in GA went like 11.8@118 or 117 on his 16G in an AWD car ... so it might be a few more MPH. The highest time I could find on dsmtimes.org for a 16g was 118.x so that sounds about right.
