I've got the pump in now guys. If I had time I would have made a new VFAQ but I was in a rush. It sucked that there wasnt one to be found anywhere when I needed it but oh well.

its not the same its different but do you seriously need a complete walk-through word for word they are very close to the same the only thing that you need to disconnect underneeth the car is the fuel line b/c the top nut is very hard to get too i just did mine tore the shit outta things so now its eaiser to access but...i don't sugjest doing what i had to do.

I ended up removing it under the car as well. Trust me, I'm lucky it's not leaking right now considering how bad I bent the top fitting. :)

Well, I've already got my pump installed but that vfaq for the 2g's is not much use for 1g's especially since the 2g doesnt have the same type of isolator on the bottom of the pump as the 1g. But after much wiggling and pooting I managed to get the EXTREMELY tight fuel fitting loose without damaging it. Had to use quad doses of Dura Lube and WD-40 to slay that beast.

Oh, btw, on the 1g's there is a bolt on the bottom of the fuel tank that must be removed before the pump will come out.

And yes, gasoline will come out too if you dont drain the tank.

I installed a Walbro 190 to prevent fpr overrun... I guess Im good for about 400 ponies now.

You are the second person I herd that from this week yet I didn't encounter this bolt you speak of, neither did every one who had commented on that post. Must be something different between model/year.

Only FWD 1G's have that bolt attached underneath the fuel tank. It bolts to the bottom of the f. pump assembly to hold it in place. Also don't forget to replace the o-ring on that bolt (for those who have it).
