ok, i was messin around with some cams from a 4g63 and i measured the lobes with a micrometer and figured out the valve lift and all that stuff. the 90 was the worst, 91 was a lil better and i also had a set of N/T cams and the intake cam was awesome, the biggest of them all, the exhaust was crap tho. has anyone used an N/T intake came before, or will it even work?

Ahha, you have found out that if you mix and match FACTORY cams you will make an improvement without buying specialty cams.

Here is a thread from a couple of years ago, important info starts mainly from #8 and onward skip over some of the nonsense.

If you have lift heights which are not in that thread it would be helpful if you can post them. If you are not able to do so post them here and I can add to the thread with your name.

Let me know if that doesn't help.

Wow, does that bring back old memories. Overdoseheroin, posting the base circle information would be really useful. I never had time to measure it and if you look in that thread, I mistakenly listed the lobe hight as lift. All the the valve open and close times are based on seat timing. the degrees given are when the valve begins to move off the seat.

According to the specs the NT and manual turbo intake cam should have the same lift but the timing is different. Perhaps there was some wear differences.

Thought you would get a kick out of that. I was trying to get all the protagonists to each rewrite their contribution if you remember so it could be placed in technical archives. I can never remember where it is so have to use key search words.

Certainly at the time the info didn't exist, I think we all did a good job. I never got any spare cams so never got the graphs done.

There is a good thread on bench flow which would be great if the 2 could be joined at some time.

Cheers,
GTM
