I thought i read something that the GT-35R is pretty much the same wheels but Ball bearing? I have a slight bit of shaft play in my 14B and if i am getting a new turbo i wanna just buy one turbo and be done. I have a 6botl being built so i dont wanna hear i need the have the support and what not. also i hear the SCM60-1 flows great at low psi which i am assuming could be put on astock block but now maxed out or pushed hard. I am looking for a finished product around 600 AWHP. I know this is a huge shot but better start high so you dont sell yourself short. Will either of these turbos push that kinda flow for the power or would i need to look at something different. i want a ball bearing turbo. thanks for anyhelp
 
Heres the deal. a 60-1 (pte) flows about 58lbmin about 580hp roughly. A gt35 (again pte) flows about 63lbmin 630-640 hp roughly. If your shooting for 600 awhp on a 60-1 the turbo will be pretty well pushed to the end there. The gt35r or scm-61 would get you there a little esier. At 600whp you should be looking for a T-4 setup of an fp3575 possibly.

well how laggy are those turbos... the SCM61?? it will be street driven and will be used on a nonbuilt engine more than likly till i can blow it up. thats why i likes the 60-1 cuz i heard it does great on low boost so it would work on unbuilt engines thanks Dave
 
why are you concearned with the amount of lag? If 600 ponies is the goal then the gt35r is your best bet.
 
because as stated it will be on a stock internal engine that wont rev to 9 grand. i dont mind the 4K spool up since it will help avoid tickets and wasting gas just making sure its not worse
 
I basically just wanna find a turbo that is a downshift away from like 350 hp with stock internals till i can finish my build up. i want a turbo that can support 600 give or take 50 whp and that is ball bearing. and aprox price if yall know. and if anyone runs one and could give an opinion on it that would be super :thumb:
 
right now i think the best turbo out there is the 3575 from fp. i switched from a full garret agp set up to go back to mitsubishi for the 3575! although a friend of mine had the ams gt35r kit on his evo for a short time and it was good for him so if i had to pick between the 60-1 and the 35r i would go with the 35r. when i had a 60-1 i had to turn it up alot more to produce the same amount of power than his on the 35r. :talon:
 
I think your ####y footing around here. Either you want 600hp or not. If you want 600 go with the gt35r, if not than go with the 60-1, reasonably. The stock block is solid, good for 400 wheel hp easily, and you don't have to rev to 9k to get to your goaqls at all. You can see 600hp at 7500 - 8000 if tuned properly with the right cam/intake mani, and supporting mods.
 
if it's any conselation AMS sells a gt35rl and they swear it makes 20 psi at 4000 rpm.
