I've been looking for a good safc tuneing guide but I havent really found one. I've got 550cc injectors, 16g turbo, safc, 2.5" exuast, 3200lb clutch, 4bolt rear, and a K&N filter on my 1g 1990 TSI AWD. It's running pretty rich, smells pretty nasty. I would like to know how/where to turn down the fuel or how to match my car up to be pretty much tuned for the setup it has. I'm shrue someone here can suggest a good pattern to use for my setup. I also would like to know if I can use the SACF to compensate for the air return if I decide to vent my BOV. Please help! :dsm:

do you have an upgraded fuel pump? the 550's flow 25% more fuel than stock, so wouldnt just turning them down -15% or so help out any?
 
I'd assume it would, but I want to cut them down to match the 16g and 2.5" exaust so everything is all tuned up nice and working in harmony.
 
anyone know a good %'s and such I should be running for my setup? That would be easier for me to work from, that guide is pretty confusing to me still.
 
You will find it much easier to tune if you have some sort of Logging device. Pocketlogger, DSMLink, DSMLoggers, ect... You might want to invest on an EGT Gauge as well to monitor exhaust temps as you are leaning things out.
 
i have 720cc and my low setting are around -13 across the board so try -7- -8 should get you a good idle. you do need to get a logger
 
I do have a Dell AXIM x3i Pocket PC. It's pretty nice has wireless internet and high-res color screen...it even has Windows on it...anyone know of a logger that can hook to my ppc?
 
Low Setting:
1K +19 2K +12 2.5K +9 3K +6 3.5K +5 4K +5 4.5K +5 6.5 +5
High Setting:
1K 0 2K +3 2.5K +3 3K +4 3.5K +4 4K +4 4.5K +4 6.5K +8
Th-Point
Lo 30% Hi 80%

That's what it suggests for me to start at, although when I run my car it smells like a fourwheeler starting up...kinda like an engine with the choke on. It's not a burning oil or burning clutch smell, im pretty shure it's the smell of a rich engine. Thoes settings are for an engine that ran lean...not shure how I could correct this.
 
I'll take some fuel out in a little bit. She smells pretty bad kinda like you've been out in the garage working on a snowblower or something where you come back inside and you stink of that distinctive exaust smell. Can anyone suggest some settings for me? and is there any way I can see if they are close to good w/o a datalogger? I've got no cash left for anything else.
