About 5 minutes ago I was standing out side and my friend start my car and rev it a little bit. Next thing I know there is this loud clunking noise and sparks shot out from what looked like the tranny. What would could this be????????? Please Help

more info please: can your car still run? does anything look weird under the hood? do you smell any burnt rubber or plastic? have you changed anything on the car resently? have you checked all your fuses? auto or stick? can you do a compression test?

Sparks makes me think that some of your wiring went bad. If you got sparks from metal to metal contact then your are in trouble. if it is still making the noise open the hood and tell us where exactly it is coming from.

the car is a 5 speed n/t. Has rebuilt head, new water pump, new timing belts, ignition module. None of these were done buy me. Done by a Mitsu mechanic. The car still runs but has a fast ticking sound comng from the head. Fuses are all good.
Have power to all things in the car. I just hoping right now the valves are not hitting the pistons. Although I don't think the car would be running at the present time if it was.

Spark Knock???
Take a wood stick, stick one end to your ear, the other to your head, while its running, and listen to it, just listen. then do the same w/ the bottem end of the block and hear where its comming loudest from..

Any fluids leaking out? Oil level on dipstick ok? still have oil pressure (check gauge) and is it low? Sparks flying out...that is strange, does you tranny still work? Put it in gear, but don't go to far until you figure it out. Try the stick thing, or a long piece of solid metal works good too.
Let us know...
