so i got my dump from punishment racing, everything is going as planned until i make an attempt to bolt up the downpipe to the exhaust . . . come to realize that the downpipe is short about half an inch and the bolts arent long enough for the nuts to thread on the other end . . . anyone encounter this problem while installing their dump ? i have an evoIII/b16g along with an N1 downpipe & exhaust . . . im sure i can do down to the hardware store and get some longer bolts for this, but it would really be putting a handful of strain on each end of the exhaust . . . wouldnt it ? let me know what you guys think

also, i noticed the dump part of the o2 dump is about one inch above my intercooler pipe, and DIRECTLY above the silicon coupler, wouldnt the high exhaust temperatures melt the silicon coupler ???

I just installed an Evo III with a pumishment racing O2 dump, and had no problems. I am curious though, are you running a frount mount intercooler? I'm still running my side mount, so my dump is no where near that intercooler piping. As for the exhuast I also had no problems. And if you tried to stretch it I'm not sure if it would be bad or not, there is the flex pipe that might be able to handle the pull.

for longer bolts. try your local muffler shop they should have it. :thumb: i wouldnt recomend any where else but the muffler shop because the have the high heat resistance bolts.

yeah i have a fmic . . . i was thinking i can just add gaskets between the gap to fill the gap in, or possibly a spacer or something ? any comments ? :dsm:

I know this is a really late responce. Youve probably fixed the problem by now, but I hate how you keep saying the o2 housing is the problem. From your description you say you have trouble mounting the downpipe to the catback and for some reason think the problem lies in the o2 housing. Your problem lies at your DP/CAT-back. I would not try to force them together. What I suggest is going to a muffler shop, and having them build you a slip-fit joint to merge the two connections. you can clamp it, or weld it on there, I did neither on mine. :)

i had the same problemm......exactly the same....i had to evo3 16g and my punishment 02 dump bolted perfect up to my exhaust.....then i bought the scm61 and my dp was a inch or so short...wtf....well in my case...i had a 2 1/2 inch exhaust to begin with...thats coming off and meinke is building me a custom 3 inch exhaust mandrel bent for 500 bucks, can't go wrong there. well good luck with w/e happens.. ull figure out something latz Garrett... :dsm:
