hey,

a friend of mine has a 1996 shaped vr4. they dont seem to be very common, but anyway. he needs an ecu. i believe that he can use and eclipse turbo ecu. so my question is, can the eclipse turbo ecu just plug and play into that yr vr4? if so what yr eclipse ecu would be needed.

thanx

Heavy,

First of all, this GVR4 a 4 or 6 cylinders?

But if people can get 95 ECU/DSM link work in an EVO8, you can certainly make it work in a Galant (if it is 4 cyllinders) ;). It is just a matter of tracing all the ECU pins to make sure that they all go to the proper places.

But, standalone, like AEM EMS, might also be a good option.

I am not etirely sure that the EMS is available for post obdII GVR4's.

These cars are more like a 3000GT VR4 then a DSM. AWD, AWS, and twin turbo 2.5l version of 6g72.

So, get a used 3000GT VR4 ECU (Might* work) Or track down a "JDM engine importer" that is selling these type of engines, and try to snag a stock ECU, to get your buddy on the road.

But like I said, take that piece of info, with a grain of salt. Just an idea, not something to make a solid referance upon.

Either way, good luck! And get some pics up!!!
