I have a 1G that I bought that I just got through purtting a new tranny in and fixing various other things. Here is a quick run down of my problem.

The car idles great and starts up no problem when cold. The problem I am experiencing is when I come to stop the car normal routine is to press the clutch pedal in and the RPM's in the car are suppose to decline. Anytime I am above 2K RPM's and depress the clutch pedal the car will decline and stay at 2K (does'nt matter what RPM I am at above 2K). After about 10-15 seconds the RPM's will decline to idle RPM's of about 800 RPM's.

When I put the new tranny in I put a stock clutch and stock flywheel in so I am not to worried about the clutch sticking, but its definatly a questionable item. The second thing that really gets me is the car did not have this problem prior to finding a harness in the passenger kick panel that had about 15-20 wires going into it disconnected. The harness was disconnected for some odd reason, previous owner must have disconnected it. The harness housed the passenger seat belt motor, interior lights, rear speaker (right rear) and ABS items. Any other circuits that ride on that harness I am not aware of or noticed they affected any other items in the car. The idle issue only arose when I reconnected the harness.

I'm wondering if there is a motor on the throttle body that maybe keeping the butter fly open longer than needed. I have an extra throttle body that I could use to troubleshoot the problem with I just did'nt know if any one else has ever experienced this problem. Does the TPS have any control of keeping the idle up a bit? Thanks for any help in advance.

since everything in the harness was electrical load related, do you think it may be because of the added load that it idles higher? like when your ac comes on or high beams, causing the alternator to have to spin faster?

I doubt it especially since its 1K more than idle and then it drops. I was going to disconnect the harness again to see what happens and start tracing from there. It would have to be one hell of a load for the alt to kick it up that much. Thanks for the reply.
