car spikes to 22psi ... what to do ...?

i have an intake, dejon tool hard intake pipe - - - N1 exhaust, N1 downpipe, profec B specII electronic boost controller, S-AFC, denso 660cc injectors, VR-4 (3kgt) fuel pump, Ported o2 housing, ported exhaust manifold, ported evoIII turbo . . . running on 100 octane . . . what can i safely boost, and what should i drop the clutch at ? (shooting for 12's ?) . . . on the profecB specII; i have it set at 14psi, (at this point im at about 98 octane) . . . in 3rd gear it'll hold 14 psi untill about 3.5K RPM . . . then it'll fly to 18psi at 4 at 5k about 20 and at redline about 22 . . . i dont know whats going on, ive logged everything with the data logger and messed with a AFC a bit to see what i can do - - - any ideas as to whats wrong ? . . . the boost is out of control, i dont know what to do
 
Id honestly disconnect the boost controller and connect the line straight to the wastegate to eliminate the Profec as the cause.


If you flooor it and it doesnt creep, then it's the boost controller.

Post back after that your results.
 
is the profec reading off ? is the boost reading im getting not accurate, and is it not contolling boost, or is it just creep. this is my problem . . . im not sure if what the profec says is right or wrong, i mean its all digital, does anyone have any reviews as to how accurate the thing really is compared to a boost gauge - - - as far as boost creep, ive ported out my o2 housing and exhaust manifold, ported out the turbo and had a 34mm flapper installed as well . . . i dont think creep is the factor here . . . (possibly a boost leak ?) let me know what you think
 
Where are you getting your psi reading from?
Are you saying that you're not running a mechanical boost gauge?


Creep refers to inconsistent boost control.

Like I already said, you need to disconnect your Profec to see if your wastegate is having difficulty controlling boost or if there's something wrong your settings. But this is only if you have a mechanical boost gauge, which you should have. If you don't have one, you NEED one, especially when playing with boost settings.

A boost gauge will also tell you if you have a disconnected wastegate line, as you'll read a signficant drop in vacuum at idle.

I don't think anyone here will tell you how accurate the Profec is because they all run mechanical boost gauges that they stare at occasionally to check for creep.
 
yeah i guess you're right, i mean - - - you cant beat the good old fashion boost gauge . . . :) thanks a lot for your help . . . ill keep u updated
 
on my other vehicles i have had the avcr and hks evc. on occasions my gauge would read different than my controller and then i knew something was wrong. leak ect.. and sometimes just my controller reading would be off aswell.
