I just purchase a intercooler that measures 24x12x3 ( 31in end to end ) with 3" inlet and outlet. So do you guys think its to big or its good to go? I am currently running a b16g right now but a 50 trim is in my future plan :thumb:

hell yeah! i have the same core. and the same setup. but all my parts are in my room and i cant drive til the end of march :thumbdown. tell me how u set up your intercooler pipes cuz i am stuck in it right now. thanks

as soon as i custom and put every thing together ill try to post up some pics for you guys.. :thumb: blkspooln i got the same bumper as you hope fully i wont have to cut too much off my talon bumper.

i think the endtank diameter is waaaaaaaay too big.
I'd also suggest 2.5" piping, but I think it's good that the inlet/outlet diameter is 3". Because if you look at that core the inlet and outlet are both way at the bottom edge, so if you use 2.5 to 3-inch reducer couplings, it'll give the air a bit more room to start "spreading out" when it enters the core so that it has at least a chance to use a greater portion of it instead of just the bottom part between the inlet and outlet. Ideally, you'd want the inlet/outlet to be somewhere in the middle (or on opposite sides from each other) in order to maximize core usage.

i had to cut about 1.5" off the rear part of the bumper to make my FMIC fit, and it's smaller than yours. look in the tech articles for my DIY FMIC thread for pics

nice. i have a simular intercooler like that on right now. its just not flush out smooth like yours.

Sounds to be the same intercooler I bought.Of course mines mounted on 1g.

Pic of it here.

Sry for the dark pics, camera phone.

Heres the turbo outlet to in IC inlet pipe made with 2.5" pipe ,a 2.5" to 3" adapter and a 3"

90 bend.I'm going to be running a holset later on.I had to make this pipe work with the

16g I have now and be able to be sawed down to work with holset later.

If I was sticking with a 16g I would have used a j pipe between the fans.

I went for the long route on the exit side.Another 2.5" u bend used along with a 2.5 to 3" adapter.I'll make a short route this spring.

Anyway, hope that gives you some ideas.

Its not that nice but thanks anyway.Thats just what it takes to get one of those mounted.

host101772 can you post up some pics of you intercooler installed? ill post mynes up as soon as i get my front mount pipe from sbr.

I have that same core for my car. I have some pictures of it on the car in my profile if anyone is interested. It is nice because on the late 2g's it fits just under the stock fog lights. Since I have purchused mine 2 other friends have bought the same one. Nice core!

Sorry to bring this back up but wanted to leave some info for the record.

Since getting the car going with this IC I've been running 18psi on 93 pump fuel.Had a terrible time with phantom knock.Latest dsmchips eprom with PK eleimination and extended maps has got it all fixed up.

The phantom knock elimination code really let me get it dialed in proper. So far with stock ignition timing I'm able to run 22psi with no knock on 93 pump.Mind you this is with a b16g thats had the compressor wheel/cover "clearanced",previous thrust bearing failure.I'm sure that cant be helping things.
