Chilliwack,
well, it seems the waste gate doesn't open. I put a bike pump on the actuator nipple and applied air pressure but it doesn't open the wastegate. I can open it by grabbing the rod with a pair of pliers, and I can hear the wastegate door opening and closing, but the actuator will not make it go. Do I need a new one? I hope not, they are around $450 !! Can you believe that?? there is no way I will pay more than $30 for one. It is just a can with a diaphragm in it and a rod for somethings sake!!

Any help??

I don't know if a bicycle pump would pump out enough pressure to open the WG.

And where the heck did you find a new WG for $450? Mitsubishi?! You can find a good used one for practically FREE. DsmTrader.com

yea, bike pump will do it, I have tested it previously with one. Acutator for a 5spd 14b car will open at 11.1 psi, bike pump will do 120, its for racing tires :)

The price was not for the wastegate, but the actuator, and yea, its a total crock!. I don't know if I need one yet, I hit the parts with some penetrating oil.

Update, it moves now with bike pump pressure. Woot!

Just gonna run the boost pressure right to the wastegate actuator. It'l be slow for a bit, but better than blowed up!! :D

I wanted to put a softer spring in that thing anyway, its WAY to hard to adjust!! 256th of a turn gives like, 2 psi or something.
