I am new to this forum, but I have been around DSM's for a long time. This is the first Eclipse type car I have ever owned and I love it. I did do a Mirage swap with a 4G63T engine about a month ago and sold it to a drag racer....Anyway, my question is if the boost gauge is inaccurate and reads only what the ECU thinks the boost level is....is that also true for the Oil Pressure gauge?

If you are going to mod your car at all I suggest changing both Boost and Oil press to the aftermarket brand of your choice. I also suggest a fuel pressure, egt, and O2 monitor of some sort. Just my opinion though and what I personally use. Corey

I have the Greddy 60mm p/h Oil pressure gauge mounted in the factory gauge sending unit location and I get the following readings. Cruising is highly RPM dependent anywhere from 2bar to 6bar. Cold start leaving my driveway at even low rpms it reaches 7 bar sometimes because the oil is still thick. After driving for long periods at idle it drops to a little below .5 bar so I upped my Idle a little bit so it doesnt drop below that and stays between .5 and 1.0 bar. Hope this helps, if you need any more info let me know, Corey

thanks for the info.. so basically once i get this thing hooked up i should just try and keep it up above 0.5 at idle.. thats about the only time I really have to worry about it..

Yeah the main thing I worry about is Idle, I have seen mine drop below .5 bar after a few hard runs so I just keep it reved at like 1200 rpm to hold the pressure at 1 bar. After it cools down some the oil gets thicker and pressure goes back up. I ran some 20w50 mixed with my 10w30 and it helped some but afetr a few hard runs it still drops really low. I just try to keep it at least 10psi or a little above .5 bar. Let me know what kind of readings you get after installing your gauge. Corey

Awesome be sure to let me know what kind of readings you get. I didnt use a tee because the factory gauge in the dash broke(actually I broke it but thats another ball of wax) so I just use the greddy. Corey
