just bought 6 bolt engine 138,000 miles

i just bought a 6 bolt engine with 138000 miles on it. i bought the engine because i blew my other rebuilt 6 bolt. i am in the process of building another 6 bolt but just for now i bought this 6 bolt just to put in my car while i build the other 6 bolt. just tell me this how much boost/ hp can a all stock 6 bolt take? i donnot want to blow this one before the other one is fully built!

The answer to your question has nearly an ifinite number of answers....OK just the number of 6-bolt motors produced, each has a number just like us! I would take it easy and put my effort into the rebuild. You already know the liit of the motor you blew. back off about 5 PSI from that. Once you have the motor installed and do a compression test, leak down, tune up and fluid changes, you will have a good idea. Mark
