I've been looking at turbo's recently for my GS-T, I've got most of stage 1 mods done(not in my profile), and thinking about upgrading my turbo. I drive daily on the highway, around the 70mph+ mark. There is also a local 1/8mi strip around here. Is there a turbo that can give me the best of both worlds, great top end, yet enough to power me down the 1/8mi? I was thinking a nice fat turbo, like the Full T3 Garrett(.63a/r), for my highway runs... with maybe a small spray at the track? And would I have to rebuild, to handle the power?

If you have the money, an FP 3052. It'll spool quickly, and give you the top end you're looking for.

With a healthy motor, 400whp is not uncommon, so you don't "need" to rebuild, unless you plan on making more than that general area.

Check out Bullseye Powers V and P trim turbos. I recommend pulling up a search and read your results. You'll be impressed.

plz re-read my post.

Agreed.....I recommend Bullseye because they offer a water cooled center section on their H3 garrett (it flows around the 50 lb/min rage). Most folks will tell you that it doesnt matter but for $30 extra, you cant beat it. Also, the spool up should be a tad faster than a 50 trim. Again run a search on V-trims and see what comes up....

i think people should move up in mods buy goin the usual route instead of goin to a 50trim like for 2g dsm get a t28 or EVO III 16g its has plenty of power or go witha 20g lots of power there no need to jumpt straight to a 50 he want highway power the 16g has it :talon:

I totally disagree with that statement. I've had an EvoIII for 10 months and really wished I went bigger from the start. If you go through your 1 stage mods (minus the turbo) in the proper fashion, it doesnt matter what turbo you bolt up, as long as the mods support it. His driven ambitions or like mine. He wants a roadwarrior that will seldom see the track (except to see what the setup's capable of). If your able I say go with it, DO IT. Your blowing money otherwise.
And the larger 16G's do have highway power but have to work alot harder to do it.

Yeah, I'm selling my banshee, when I get it sold, im getting a huge turbo setup. Highway Domination :x
Anyone want an 03 Yahama Banshee? :p

I'll trade you a Full T-4 for it with a T04E Compressor cover. Not to sure what compressor wheel is. Got a decent deal and have yet to measure it and see what the wheel is. I know it is capable of 500+ WHP. :)

But I would be making out like a Banshee on a deal like that. :)

i have had my evoiii for about a year now also and i would have liked to have went bigger but the lessons of tunnin i learned with the 16 will help me with a 50 or bigger if a guy has to ask ? then he doesnt know hte potential of smaller turbos and everyone says they should have went bigger after the fact when they buy a turbo ne way.. :thumbdown

You guys yearning for power before learning will always get beat by the veterans with 14bs and 16gs. Slapping a fmic, injectors, Fp and a big turbo on a car does not make it fast.

You're fwd which means your car needs a lsd, good slipper clutch and slicks. 1/8mile is all about traction. my best 1/8th is 8.5. awd's that get 8.5's usually go mid 13's. I went 12.8 with that run.

i agree...

but in his case i would say 20g, fp green then again...how much money are you willing to spend?

anyone else agree there are way to many of these posts? LOL

Actually I used search didn't find what I wanted, so I posted. Appreciate your suggestions. I'm an auto fwd, I have to work that much harder.

this guy doesnt seem like too hardcore of a drag racer. if your still on stock turbi i suggest getting something smaller first like an evo3 16g and get the tuning experience. going too big too fast will get you overwhelmed and or a blown engine. :dsm:

I would say go with the fp green turbo. I had a friend with that on his 2g spyder with the supporting mods and he was quick on highway and street. No lsd needed because you have the turbo lag but you will need fuel pump, injectors, fuel tuunning, fmic, external wastegate. you have those you will love your car. I am about to get my green soon.

green is good for you
