talon and the TD05HR-16G6-10.5T??

okay i have a quick question. I was planning on getting a Evo 3 16g [ported/clipped] when spring comes. Now i have been reading alot about the evo and such, and i know the Evo 8 has a TD05HR-16G6-10.5T (Twin Scroll Turbine) turbo, will this one fit on my 4G63t if I get the evo manifold as well. [my plan was to get the evo 3 turbo and evo manifold at the same time.] I am looking at 350-400 AWHP is this going to be adequate?
if you see something missing that would help in my mod list to help me reach this goal, dont hesitate to mention it.

btw i have a 96 talon tsi awd with:
ACT 2600 w/ street disc
b&m shifter
cobalt boost, a/f, egt gauges
safc2
pocketlogger
strut bars [front/back]
injen intake with k&n

3" turboback [madrel bent]

when spring comes i am getting a 97 talon bumper w/ a fmic w/ short route piping and the 16g

any help would be great.

the twin scroll won't work with our manifold. not to mention that the turbo's inlet would face your alternator. stick with the evo3 16g and you'll be just fine.
 
missed the 350-400whp part, if that's your goal it would take a damn strong running 1g to get you there. don't overlook the fp green if you want serious bolt on power.
 
People are and are coming damn close to hitting 350 ish with a 14b. And you don't think an e316g can hit 350-400 with tuning? Im thinking it is very possible to hit that mark with the 16g.

the most i've ever seen out of a 14b was around 300whp, a superb running evo 3 16g would maybe put down no more than 375 whp, a decently tuned fp green, buschur 20g, or some of the new 50 and 60 trims out there would more easily hit his mark of 350-400whp.
 
ok that is ONE 14B that has every mod under the sun in his engine bay. Including a "wet shot" of nitrous...you cant compare his car to the average tuner :rolleyes:

well what do you think i have now for hp?? its tuned pretty good, buy my t2small is well .... horseshit at best. if i got the green what manifold would you recommend???

Right now you'd probably be around 250hp at the wheels at max boost on pump, maybe a little more on race gas but i doubt it. The t25 is anything but a maximum hp machine.

If you go with something like a green your 2nd gen manifold should be just fine. Port the ring out of the neck on it. The fp green and red are both setup to bolt onto a stock dsm manifold. You could always purchase something like the DNP manifold or something, but I think your 2nd gen mani should work well considering your goals.

If you read posts dated from back in the beginning of September, SBR hit the 400 WHP mark with the e316g.

ok, a stoker motor helps with that.

evo16g and the normal person are not going to make 350-400awhp sorry just not going to happen. If someone is deticated and has all the suporting mods and has a place to tune it then sure it could happen. I mean shit i hit 338awhp on a small 16g but thats on race gas with cams.

Get a 20g and you be just fine. There is a guy here in my town that could build you a killer 16g or 18g or something around that range to put you close to your hp goals. You'll need some bigger injectors tho. :thumb:

are you still on your 7bolt motor? Have you are are you planning on doing any internal mods?

Yes, it does.

-If you run a stroker motor
-If you have a dyno and god-like tuning skills
-If you have a built engine and a modified cylinder head
-and, if you're running high-octane race fuel

Then yes, you can get 400WHP.
 
yup im still on the 7 bolt. I was thinking about getting cams, and some cam gears. but i dunno. I read up on the green and i think i am going to go with that, ported and clipped. along with my 2g man ported. i just dont know if i should go internal or not. Im thinking external with a O2 external gate. any opinions on this??

You should get an external gate if you wish to control boost well. I know peeps with greens. Even those who had internals have switched in external in order to control boost better. The internals may work, but not well for a street car with pump gass.
O2 mounted would defintily be easier if you are going to replace your O2 housing for better flow anywayor is you wish to have it rerouted internal. Otherwise, mount it on your manifold nad it will work fine.
