Hi guys and gals,
Just need someone to confirmed this.
1.) I recently picked up a second hand TIAL wastegate. The guy who sold it to me said it was a 35mm.
Funnily after i got home, i noticed that it looked like a 40mm wastegate!,
I measure the inlet valve and it was 40mm but when i measured the outlet valve (downpipe to atmosphere) , it was only 35mm.
What actually is a 40mm wastegate? How do you measure this ? the seating valve or the outlet valve?????

2.) Are all TIAL wastegates diagphrams similar?
Just incase i have to replace it!

regards
edmund

Ive never used a TIAL wastegate before. I was told that it does not require a gasket for any of the flanges, is this true? I notice the 40mm valve has a sealing ring which looks like it does not need a sealing ring.

any idea?

I don't use any gaskets on my 35mm Tial. It doesn't leak at all. So, Yeah! You may do without it and that's definitely not a 35mm if you were still wondering. The picture above shows the differences between the two. :thumb:

THANKS to ALL !!!
I will remove the cap of the 40mm wastegate, and I will let it vent freely.
Again, appreciate the advice!!!

cheers!
