ok I know the nipple goes tot he vacuum source right after the throttle body, my question is this.. mine keeps breaking, the line that is, it appears that when the engine is under load everything rotates back and the hose thats on that nipple comes back and hits the engine mount and cracks the hose. Ive fixed it 3 times already. What exactly would a leak in this hose do to performance?

Im not 100% sure if i know what you mean (as far as HOW it is breaking), but if I am thinking about the right vac hose (the one on the top of the valve) then you should be losing several pounds of boost if that comes undone (or breaks)... I used to have a problem with mine just coming off the bov all together... (i ended up just using a small clamp)...... If you line keeps breaking, how about getting a differant kind of hose? Maybe just a little thicker?

hmmm, that would explain why i cant get anything over 20lbs on my profec b.. the hose just keeps coming back when the whole UICP come back with the engine and then it hits the engine mount and i guess that point of contact is actually breaking the hose..

i dont think so.. ive moved it around a couple times and it always seems out of the way and then it breaks again. I cant figure out why its doing this now but didnt before..

Does it really look like something actually hit it, or it got smashed? or does it look like it might be like a bit of high pressure might have blown it from the inside out?

I had that problem once, I just bought some nice thick silicon vaccum hose and it didn't break anybore.

The problem with a break in the line is you will probably (I can't think of the name, (damn beer) but where your boost gets thrown back at your turbo by the throttle slamming shut) cause damage to your turbo. The best way to fix the problem is to take the allen screws out of the top of the BOV and rotate the head of it, to piont to the direction that the vac. line is coming from.

I hope this makes sense, and I'm not totally off track as to what your talking about.

This is what I was going to suggest, BUT!!!!!!, it is NOT AN EASY TASK to get the BOV to seat correctly after doing this.
Experience, my type s was really strong for some reason, was told to take out one of the springs ( inner spring, theirs 2 springs and a hat on top where the adjustment screw pushes into) Well, the seal is like a rubber bowl or cup, very flexible! and MUST be seated perfect! I ruined 2 seals, at $80 each! You can tell when you take it a part and see the crease in the outer part of the seal or rubber bowl. Thats what the other nipple is for also, on the back of the GReddy Type S, one to release excess air after it's lifted already and the other is to act like a TADDLE TAIL if your seal is torn. BE CAREFULL.....it's a major pain. I gave up on replacing just the seal and just bought a new one and haven't had any problems.
Hope this all made sense...................
BTW: always use Zip Ties or something on vaccum hose connections. Most of mine are hose clamps on all things cocerning pressure!

I never ran into the problems that GSTspeedracer mentioned, but I was extremely carful when I did mine, as I heard the same horror stories. I just took out all the allen screws and turned the head without taking all the way apart. I sold mine and as far as I know last time I a talked to the guy it was still working great for him also. Good luck!
