2g motor swap ?'s

I am putting in a 1g motor in my 2g GSX and i am having some problems wiht the cam angle scensor. (CAS) I read that you can "switch" some wires on the CAS and it will work but you will also have "random miss fires." I also read that you can build a circut board to serve as a translator for the CAS to the ECU to elimiate the random miss fires. I wanted to know exactly what is random miss fires and what it causes. Also has anyone built the board and used it? If so please post how it worked. If the board works would anyone be interested in buying some if i built them, so all you would have to do is plug the CAS in to the board and the ECU onto the other side. Well let me know I need help.

If you have a 95 then you should just use your black CAS and you wont have this problem. You should have came across that when you were reading up on the swap. RRE also sells the P-N-P cable for $70 so you wont have to mess with any wires.

dude, its easy to run the wires from the cam angle sensor (1g) to the crank angle sensor (2g) its like 3-4 wires..i have never had any random misfires..

I did buy the Plug and play but they said that i had to have a 93 94 cas because it was a holofex insted of optical.

Try Gary at Mitsu graveyard hes one of the sponsers and should be one of your best bets. If not then start looking in junkyards. Im trying to find one myself that is local.
