I just installed the Apexi Power Intake tonight on my car. Everything went smooth except for the 2 L shaped brackets that it comes with. Where do these mount? The instructions are all japenese so I cant understand them. When i have them the way it looks i the diagram the push the intake too high and I cant close my hood. And I cant figure out where they bolt on too. Anybody know?

not many ppl here...

IMO your just payin for the name on the apexi intake.

I rather go with the injen filter or the k&n

$160 for just a filter is just insane

You can't use them, they are for the Lancer Evos.

You don't need to use any bracket, the filter is light and will be supported just fine by the intake.

Why do they ship a bracket for a lancer? You would think someone would have realized the mistake by now. I paid 130 for mine which is only like 20 bucks more expensive that the K&N fipk.

Someone got lazy and took the box for lancer from japan and slapped the 95-99 Eclipse sticker on it, now it's ready to sell in america.

Everything works besides the brackets. Enjoy.

the L shape bracket goes right under the air mass(Connector) so that it won't move or rattle. i had it for almost 2 yrs and it's one of the best.
Good Choice :thumb:

I just cut a few inches off the bracket that came with the power intake then used one of the old intake screw holes to support the intake. Working fine and it's solid. IF you don't cut the bracket and make a new whole in it to attach to the intake, it will prop it up to high and you won't be able to close the hood.

My POS 2G bov sounds sweeet with this intake

I'm not sure about cutting the bracket to fit (mine was perfect fit),
if this is what you have in picture(w/o metal heat shield) which came
with it. and about the intake pipe, just get the pipe from Injen for
about $100. you will notice the difference right away and hear turbo
spool louder.

Turn them around.

We had the same problem :p

They attach long ways with the shorter end onto the intake, not vice versa.

I guess it might fit with the bracket, but I couldn't find a way. Actually I think I did but it propped the intake up to high and the heat shield wouldn't fit right if I closed the hood. That's why I but a couple inches off and drilled a new hole through the bracket.

,the apexi brackets dont wont, there for the lancer evo, i can take pictures of my custom brackets and give you exact measurements and what material i used so you can make your own or if you want you can paypal me like 20$ and ill make some and ship em out :)
