Ok here's the deal. I have an N-1 catback and i need a DP tht can bolt to it, and be able to swap in a cat and test pipe. If it wasnt for emmisions i would get the n-1 downpipe. I know RRE has them but they are alot of $$ for a dp and cat and tp. I like ahp (www.ahpproducts.com), but im not sure if they will bolt to the apex catback. Anyone got a setup like im lookin for?

RNRRacing (www.rnrracing.com) can make a downpipe that will fit any brand of catback. I would go the O2 eliminator route so you don't have to port you O2 sensor housing. They have excellent prices and quality. He could probably weld on the flange you need to mate up to your N1 but it will probably cost more than the prices posted on the site. A cheaper route would probably be to cut the flange off and go with a slip fit connection.

Thanks ill check them out. If worst comes to worse ill just find a shop that can mandrel bend and take them some flanges (if i can get some apex ones) and a flex and see wht they'll charge.

Does the apexi system neck down at the point where it bolts to the cat?

If you're going to be eliminating the cat, or running a larger one, it would be adviseable to eliminate this neck down anyway, since it would be a restriction in the system.

The only apexi system I've seen was on a 3KGT, not a DSM, and it did in fact have this bottleneck at the cat connection. The DSM system might not have this problem, though I cannot see how they would connect it to the stock cat without decreasing its diameter.

I suggest buying a DP from any vendor, then fabricating them together to eliminate any restrictions.

it has a neck down, out it is a bolt on peice...now tht i think of it, i could use the flange off tht to get welded to a downpipe. But anyway the neck down is a removable piece, adapter u could say.

SON UVA B*TCH!! I wish i woulda known about RnR before i bought my catback! I coulda got a full 3" turbo back, saved a few more bucks and got it O2 elim. Man i thought i shopped around too. Maybe i can sell my catback plus my t-25 and get a turbo back, any opinions?

 i just dont know, but oo full turbo back:D hmm. I'll see if i get any more opinions, thanks 90GSX!

yea.. the apex n1 catback necks down to connect to the stock downpipe. if you get a 3" downpipe with 3" high flow cat/test pipe you have to bring it to a muffler shop to cut that piece that knecks down on the n1 so its full 3"

thats also why im waiting and going to do the full exhaust system all at once so i don't run into ur current situation .. let us know how it goes..

the piece the n-1 uses to neck down is a bolt on adapter, no cutting needed to go to full 3". I am either gonna have rnr build me a dp to bolt to the catback, or just get the n-1 and have swap the stock dp and cat in when i have to get emission tested.
