Well to answer your question I usually had my gain at 12 percent or so.I used to own a greddy profec B Spec II. I tried my best to get it to stop boost spiking and to try to tune it just right so that I could have a reliable, consistent boost setting. I called greddy several times in an effort to end its inconsistency. It's just too unreliable, too quirky, and too hard to tune just right. After a few months of total aggrivation I just sold it on ebay and went with a Joe P. MBC. I had more than enough to buy new autometer gauges, the boost controller, and a vent bezel from slowboy. I'm not tryin' to bum you out man because I know how expensive they are. There is a reason why greddy cut the profec spec II. Too many problems. Many of them came from the fuzzy logic system thats incorporated into the spec II. Now they have the profec type-S. Its pretty similar to the old profec just with spruced up looks and no fuzzy loggic computer. My advice to you: sell the profec and go with a reliable MBC whethe it be hallman, joe p, turboxs, yadayada whatever.

I have my low set at 10% and my high at 15%. No spiking and with the start boost function, I get my 50 trim to 20psi by 3600ish.. I havent found anything to complain about with the profec yet..

ya i havent had any probs with mine either i was just wondering what gains you were running at and wont diff turbos be diff gains???
