Ok , I have a AFC, 550's , 255 pump now and no regulator. The car pulls good and all now but i have been reading about regulators and im thinking i need one to controll the 255 better. So That takes us to the ain question. I have the option to swap my 255 for a 190 would this be ok for my mods ? make tuning easier and allow me to use the stock regulator ? thanks guys.

If you are not running above 20psi I would not worry about a regulator. The AFC should be fine it's more then I have and my car is running good.

Im only running 15-15 psi now because of the stock clutch.

what do you mean fluking ? Thanks

420a, stapl3 is asking what your base fuel pressure is. By fluke he meant your stock FPR should be over run by the amount of fuel the 255 is putting out so if it is working with the 255 it is a 'fluke". mark

I understand now, thanks......If theres a sensor ill check it with the logger if now ill figure it out and let you know thanks .

I think that the 190 pump is highly underrated. I ran 25psi on a 50 trim with 850cc injectors on a 190.....made 380whp. So yes, the 190 will be fine for your setup.......with no AFPR.

My fuel filter has a pressure gauge on the top of it. it's a B&M I believe. I always understood an AFPR is used to help tne. Why pay what they cost just to allow a bigger pump to be used and then regulate the pressure near stock pressure? Mark

I don't have an afpr and I haven't had any problems. When I purchased the 255, my local shop said I wouldn't really need one. I trusted them, put it on, and I'm okay. Now I guess I'm going to have to do more research if you guys think I really need one. OMG

I run a 190l re-wired,660's, stock fpr, hacked 2g-mass,afc with the 18g at 26+psi with no problems. Ran best mph of 117.50 . Thats with race gas, pump gas I can still tune for 23psi with minimal knock.
The 190l is underrated but has it's limits too. If you start outflowing the pump with high base fuel pressure you'll start leaning out in higher gears. By fourth gear the pressure will start dropping like a rock.
