T. belt

My timing belt is tight when I shut my car off, then if I let it sit for a few hours and then check it it's loose. Is this the same for everyones car?
I am just talking about between the cam gears, by tight I mean very very little slack and by loose I mean like 1/3-1/2" of slack but nothing changes its just from the car sitting. Is there some kind of Tensioner that is only engaded when the car is running? Later Corey

Nope, but you have a full time auto tensioner.

What more elaboration do you want?

If you want more elaboration, you should read VFAQ page on timing belt replacement. They have pictures on how the timing belt is hooked up. The auto tensioner as the name already implied keep the tension on the belt in place. I dont know what else you want.

No problem, Thanks for the help you were able to offer though. I just went for a drive and before I left it was loose I get home and check it and its tighter than Britney Spears, I dont get it. I am not really gonna worry about it because as long as its tight while I am running the car thats all that really matters right? Later Corey
