Is this a 2G Eprom ECU serial number?

Hey guyz, I am going to buy an Eprom ECU, I just want to make sure it is one first. The numbers on it are

MD321912 E2T61677 5526 T
and
1912 E2T61677 on the side.

Please let me know so I dont buy another normal ECU that I dont need. Thanx.

Sorry I had no idea what section this should go into.

Thanx in advance guyz.

i believe that is a 2G FWD, however, it has a "t" at the end, you need an "e"

This is the only way that I know how you can check for sure.

http://www.dsmlink.com/faq-eprom.html

Good luck and I would ask for a picture of the front. I got screwed on the first one that I bought but the guy refunded my money after I told him it wasnt an eprom

Thanx guyz for being quick to respond. I think this guy thinks the other E's in the serial number mean that it is an Eprom ECU. However, I dont think it is either since from what I can figure out, it has a T in the bottom right hand corner. He says he doesn't have a digital camera so he can't get pics, but I have asked him to retract my bid on the ECU anywayz because i dont want to take the chance of getting a crap ECU that I dont need. Thanx once again guyz.

Another small problem i have just encountered. The guy seems very reputable on ebay. He says that his local DSM shop says that it is an eprom ecu, however the covers have been switched. He says that he sees the eprom chip inside. Can someone tell me if it is possible to tell the eprom chip is in there? Im just curious.... thanx guyz.

there are only two 2g eprom ecus that i know of. they are from the 95 turbo fwd and the 95 turbo awd.

md309947 fwd
md312464 awd

the letter "E" must appear on the bottom right of the label like in the pic below.

i checked the part number md321912 and this is what i came up with:

md321912
Electrical - Powertrain control - Ecm
ECM, Eclipse, 2.0L, w/Turbo, 2WD 1996

md321912 isn't the correct ecu to use with dsmlink.

So basically anyone can place an eprom cover onto their ecu's and say they are eproms, and the only way to check would be to literally pull the cover off? Seems like it would be too easy to knock these off..

It is very possible to switch the boards and cases. I've seen EPROM serial numbers with non EPROM boards and vice versa. The ONLY way to know for sure is open the case and look at the board, then you can see if the EPROM chip is there.

Good advise for those considering getting an eprom off of ebay or from a vendor, always check that you got the right part

Ben, that's not your ECU - that's your SRS module (controls the airbags). Make sure NOT to turn the key on with that thing unplugged or you'll throw the SRS light and then have to get it cleared.

The ECU is behind the radio. You have to remove both the foot well kick panels to get to the 3 bolts that hold it in.
