well for those of you who helped me out, thx. now i fixed my timing problem and it builds boost good now but it has a very loud vibration on acceleration, i think it might be the balance shaft, is there anything else? when i had the timing cover off and everything i rotated the crank and balance shaft and it sounded good. I was told that if a bearing was bad it would probably sieze or make a grinding noise while rotating it. and i also did not put back the pully for the belt tensioner on the ac nor put the ac belt on, could that do it?

sounds like one or both of the balance shafts are out of phase. did you line up the timing mark on the oil pump?

yea both marks are lined up, wish it was that simple. if a bearing spun is there any easy way to check, a noise or drop the oil pan and check from below?

I had the same symptoms as what you are describing. I dropped my pan and found a shredded rear balance shaft bearing (the one that connects to the oil pump gear. Who ever installed the timing belt before I bought the car installed it with the oil pump gear 180 degrees out of phase (it takes the belt driven gear 720 degrees of rotation to rotate the balance shaft only once). When you line up the oil pump timing mark, you also have to make sure you check (with a screw driver sticking into the back of the block) that the phase is still correct. (if you did not know this already, check vfaq.com's timing belt instructions). Mine was out of phase and the bearing completely got chewed to pieces. Like what was said above, dropping your oilpan would be the best course of action.

I second that^^^You can also just move the mark on the gear to 12 o'clock and let go of it. If it goes counter clockwise it is lined up correctly. Double check the direction I just gave (counter clockwise) on the vfaq's as it's been a little while since I did one of these.
