Ok i have a great setup but, i was wondering what everyone who has a GMAF blow through thinks of it?? Did you notice a power increase or has anyone had their car dynoed before and after?? just wondering if it was worth it or if i should keep saving for a AEM EMS. Also any tuning gods out there or people who know their SH!t will the GMAF blow through be able to get me into the 10's or is it ineveable that i have to drop the 2,000 on the AEM EMS??? Some help would be greatly Appricieated

I am not a tuning god, but I do know that using the MAFT only for tuning will not get you to the 10's. Most in the 10's have either used stand alone or I think a few with dsm link are in the 10's.

Dsm link is a lot cheaper and more user freindly, I would save your money for dsm link and spend the extra 1300+ dollars on other parts.

With the translator i dont think you would get any special hp gains jsut from the gm maf but more from the tuning that you can do with the translator. You cant really compare the translator and aem ems. have you looked into dsmlink?

gm maft is great. Tunning sucks somewhat with it... I like the maft, it does what I need for now. I don't need to recycle the blow off, I can make minor fuel changes. :thumb:
If I ever install dsmlink, you can just zero out the maft, and run everything on dsmlink.

Running MAF-T and dsmlink here

Last night I was driving home from out of town and blew an intercooler hose. Because of the maft (in blow-through) I was able to drive home, because I had no tools. Much better than sitting on the side of the road. That is why I like the maft.

so it is possible to get into the 10's with a DSMlink? and the GMAF and translator are not worth the money??

- How fast have you gone with DSMLink?

Our own shop car has run a mild 11.3. Several of our users are running 10s, the fastest of which is Russ Coxe running 10.3 with traps over 140 mph! Considering the fact he's doing this through a factory automatic transmission really illustrates the power he's putting down.

This quote is from the dsmlink website. www.dsmlink.com. The MAFT setup is primarily used so you can vent your BOV. So if that is not an issue for you then no its not worth the money.

They recently released DSMLink for 1g's so if you have an e-prom and a few hundred dollars, you can have it.

Im not going to argue, but I know its been a waiting thing, and not a sure one too... I don't see anything posted on there website?

In the dsm link forums they have been discussing this for a long time. They have released a few 1g versions to people who were at the top of the list to get one. Just send them an e-mail and they should be able to let you know when you will be able to get one for yourself

DSM Link = :D

Or so you can tune your car more similarly to the way the stock ECU tunes itself.
MAFT is an airflow piggyback, it will let you run blow-though, but that's not the only reason to buy it.

DSMlink is a decidedly better tuning tool.

You are correct but most 2g's dont need the extra flow from the gm mas, and if he is going to get the dsm link he would end up just zeroing out the maft. That is why I told him in his situation it would be primarily used to vent the bov.
