that looks like a really nice kit. let us know how it works!

oh, also, i would go with the 10'' because then you have the option of running more boost later on down the road. a 10" should be fine....

It Works Awesome. I have the 10" tall kit on my car with my Evo3 16g and I think they go togther quite well :)

Plus JR's customer service has been top notch. My kit was one of the early one's and I had a couple Issue's with pipes not quite fitting right so he sent me new piping for free. Also the powdercoating on the pipes is top quality.

The best kit out there for the price, no doubt.

i would have to agree

is intercoolers are AWESOME. his customer service is AMAZING, he actually welded on custom tabs to my IC to where i wanted them by drawing him a picture and he did it FREE of chrge the guy is awesome

He also packages his IC's perfectly, they come looking brand new, not like some other places(my friend orderd an srt4 ic from some company, came all beaat)

I like JR's shit so much, i am ditching my custom fabed pipes(kinda 1/2 ass) for his pipe kit, because its great quality at a great price

This guy steped it up, i was one of the first to buy one of his Ics when he was only like at 100 feedback on ebay, now he's at like 440 or so...great guy to deal with :thumb:

I ordered the 30x7x2.8 core last week. I dont know if going 7" tall was a mistake or not yet, but I know that anything is better than my small Greddy FMIC. Hopefully I should get it this week and I will let you know what I find out.

thanks for that pic canadianTSi. after seeing that pic and the size differance between the 7" and the 10", i'm now leaning towards the 10" core. wow much did the kit cost you with the 10" core? i have heard nothing but great things about this guy which is why i'm choosing to buy my fmic with him. fish3rboi, let us know your thoughts after you get the 7" kit installed. i too don't want to get the 7" kit and then regret it later on down the road and wish that i had went with the 10" core.

i like the fact that the j-pipe clears both fans. i am sooooo getting this kit. 7 in. tall cores are perfect for 85% of people on this site even people running 50 trims. No cutting, no fan changes needed. ####in perfect.

The 7" tall core is plenty for the EVOIII16G @20psi. I have the 10.25" tall core, but I have a GT3255 also. Jwoody on here runs the 7" kit on his GSX with the EVOIII16G and has no problems. :thumb:

Does anyonek know if JR will powdercoat the pipes any other color other than black?

YES the J pipe clears the fans, right in the middle

The black is clean as hell

The 7" is what i have, and it works great and guess what???????

IF YOU INSTALL it right, and cut the extra plastic piece on the top of the inside of hte bumper, and trim some of the support, you will have 2" or so on top of the IC for flow to the radiator, thats what i did, never overheats even in 100+ fresno weather, something else to think about, while everyone wants HUGE, high water temps is just as bad for performance

OH, all you 50trim guys, JR also can make that pipe fits the 50 trim, thats what i just got, to fit my new t3/04b, istead of the J pipe, although u 16g guys are lucky enough to have a clean piping kit finally

Me too-- the only thing I'm a little concerned about is the size/configuration of the end tanks.

Anybody have any better pics of the internal fins? The ones in his eBay auctions are a little blurry.

How is the kit working out for you? I was eventually going to buy a 50 trim kit and was wondering if the 7" could support it well enough. Also, is the piping all stainless steel as well as the core itself. Sorry for the stupid questions. OMG

Also, this looks like one nice kit, especially for its price.

Hey Houston, I am just running a T28 @ 17psi, but I've had no probs. Even after a hard run, the intercooler is always cool to the touch after the first few inches of intercooler. I went with the 7in and glad that I did. I had some overheating problems but after I cut out the bottom section of the bumper support and crafted a sheetmetal shroud, the air conditioner was cool again. Be careful about what you get yourself into, driving with the heat on high in the Texas heat is brutal. Sorry I don't have a picture up but JR's core fits the front opening perfectly. I'm very happy with it. :thumb:

wow i have never heard of this guy before they sure seem like good intercoolers..

The price isnt bad at all, Im now deciding bewteen the jr or the agp fmic now damn decisions decsions ;)

Yea, I was planning on ordering the dejon tool fmic this dfriday but I dont know now.

Looks like a pretty good deal for this intercooler setup. I'm going to throw something out here just as constructive criticism. They mention a "fine" internal louvered fin inside the I.C. Are these fins "punched" thru or just like a plain fin? A 25" long & 7" tall core with a tight internal fin pattern "might" not have a pressure drop as low as they claim at that flow rate. A 2.8" inch thickness is also thin compared to Spearco's 3.5". You want thicker on a core thats only 7" high cause you need all the internal flow area you can get. Spearco also uses special unpunched, wide fin/inch spacing internally on cores over 20" long for low pressure drop. Think about this, a stock sidemount I.C. off a 97 GSX is also around 7" tall and 2.125" wide with a tight inside fin density, and its only 8" long. I bet the pressure drop at 650 cfm ain't so good. Now Imagine flowing thru 3 of these cores in series. The efficiency seems about right though given the size. A real tight head-on closeup of the inside of the core would probably answer my questions. If this is a Spearco core than ignore anything I just said. Again, I don't want to impact this guys business and this I.C. probably suits every 16g person just fine. Just playing devil's advocate.

Sorry, double post.

Here is the link http://www.adfxracing.com/ic-info.asp for a little info on an "inefficient" extruded core setup. I think a little more comprehensive test data than the e-bay seller. Now don't forget this test data is for the bigger 23"x14"x2.75" core, not the smaller 23"x10"x2.75" DSM sized core. A smart guy could work backwards and roughly calculate the smaller cores efficiency using the face area differences. I run the ADFX extruded core but I would also like to have tried out the Spearco cores too, oh well. My ADFX fmic on a group buy cost $750 shipped, although I put a hell of a lot more into it like t-bolt clamps, good quality hump & transition silicon hose, custom welding of pipes, etc. Buy from whom ever, just research alot before you do. Again, a well informed consumer never hurts.

He says the Cores are 2.8 inches thick, but there pretty close to 3.

Also my car going almost 111mph on pump gas with a 16g that could use alot more tunning and a 3400lb car shows that they work pretty well.

FYI for those with an auto tranny...JR says it probably wont fit but nobody has tried it so he's not a 100% sure. :thumbdown
