I have a question that may be simple, but I was wondering if all the MAF/T's were the same?
Meaning there was only 1 model of MAF/T that is used by everything?

there is two type's. a 3inch and a 3.5inch. I believe its just a general chevy maf. I know the 3inch came on mid to late model impallas. and the 3.5 is a corvette maf. Also there is two styles pull though and blow through. sombody correct me if im wrong.

Draw through and blow through are the same, you just change where the sensor is located. There are at least two versions of the GM MAFT out there, and have heard of a Ford translator also.

If you're asking if they're different for a 1G and 2G then I believe they are. When I bought mine, I had to specifically tell him that if was for a 1G. I believe it has something to do with the plugs being different between the two. :)

1g and 2g have different plugs on them.

Also, the comment by pianoman is about the maf itself. Btw the different mafs are: 3" (Impala SS; lt1's - I think), 3.5" (ls1's like the ws6 trans am and I believe the c5 vette), lastly, the 3.75" was strictly for the Z06's. Most of this is a guess though, I haven't looked throught the whole list. It can be found here: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118666&highlight=MAF+list+cars

Sorry, I have not replied back sooner...

Ok the question about more then 1 type was meant twoards the actual unit. IE the translator itself.
I saw a MAF translator on Ebay and waited for a reply from Ramchargers but never got one, and the price was just too good.
Anyway, the one I got has the plugs for a 3.8 GN motor.
I have no issues what-so-ever about cutting soldering the 1G plug to the harness.
I would just need to know from someone that has one for a 1G which wires go where.

I do know there are several GM MAFs. I am going to go with a 3" LS1 right now. I am just waiting on a plethra of parts...

2.5" hard pipes...
rebuild kit for my T4E
Pipes for my 304 S/S 3" exhaust
Megan Muffler
flex section 3"
resonator
extra couplers
T bolts

the list goes on...

Anyway, in case you were wondering I got this unit for 134 shipped...

Ok, I wish you would've been more specific in your question. I very much doubt that the buick maft will work on a dsm. If you want to know for sure ask one of the guys at www.fullthrottlespeed.com I am pretty sure the output of the maft is no where near the same for both cars.

Go back to ebay and sell the maft you bought and buy the correct unit.

Well I am in contact with the seller.
He made the fatal mistake of knowing what the unit was for, and lying about it in the description.
In the description itself he says it will work for a DSM.
Ramchargers says otherwise...

just when you thought Ebay was ok...
