hey everyone! well i got my check and now i have to decide what im going to do with this engine situation im having. my engine is done, not coming back from the dead. i would really like to do a 6 bolt swap into my car, but its rather expenisve to do it the RIGHT way which is the only way i want to do it to forgoe problems down the line. ive found this to be the best solution http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=1895&mods=21-956 and aslo ad 1399 for the 2g kit. Ill be running a evo316g on it. give me your opinions or if you may know a better way going about this.

yea, i wouldnt point someone to SBR for a motor. Magnus, jacksonautomachine.com, dont think vtengines.com is still doin mitsu motors, but also josh from JNZtuning.com etc. Lots of people can build a better motor, for a much better price.

Also, I wouldn't get the 6-bolt swap kit. Way overpriced...do you really need a new timing belt cover, new intake manifold? I got all the necessary swap parts for mine for about 600 and that includes brand new ACT 2600, ACT flywheel, 1g MT turbo head w/intake mani, CAS, water pipes, new water pump, etc. Just look around. This is kinda the same thing as the 16g install kit. Buschur sells them for like $350 when all you need is the j-pipe and some lines ($30 on ebay).

As for the block, that is a bit expensive, but you do get the backing of SBR if something happens to it.

ive heard nothing but bad things about the backing of SBR motors, as well as theyre poor build quality. Dont bother with them, talk to a local machine shop, find one with a torqueplate. Check out bjscylinderhead.com or jacksonautomachine.com (little pricey, but are wayyy more trustworthy than SBR).

I thought SBR blocks were generally liked on the board - am I misinformed?

I've got a SBR block in my car and I think it's performed well so far. It's gotten about 10k since August and I'm definitely happy with it. You never hear the good things about a company, only the bad.

you are 1 lucky mofo i guess. i would consider you the luckiest of all humans if they used any topline products on the motor and it lasted this long as well.
