Hum, is that equal length? I dont think it is, but it looks so jumbly mumbly...

Also, would it bolt up to a stock car? And just how shitty is the stock manifold? Would it be worth it to upgrade? Sure looks like it would..

And, dont people have problems with those cracking?

Replace your rusty header with DNP stainless steel header. Equal lenght design. Stronger with 5 header supports. Stock location design. Will fit stock 14b, T25, 16g, B16G and etc.

Ah yeah, i looked for it on the site for like 2 mins, all i saw was 3kGT stuff, so yeah i'm lazy and gave up lookin.

Do you think you'd need to port that thing for the bigger turbo's? Or i guess it would still flow fine.. ?

Ummm, looks like it's all merging into a 4-1 merge collector...shouldn't have any interference? Need better angles to get a good look at the collector neck...

so how much hp gain if you are running a big 16g with it? any ideas?

ahh from what i hear its best to just get your crappy stock one painted and port it out! that really doesnt give you much gains from what im told and from what i did reserach on. . .

i would believe it if they have a dyno chart showing improvements but if it did it would give you a lil torque. . .

That looks like it's grouping the 1/2 and 3/4 exhaust ports together. Isn't that the wrong way to do things, as it'll cause pulse interference?

Not unless you have a divided turbine housing...

PS... Nice looking piece! Wish I had some $ left over from this damn FWD build up... 2g manifold, here I come! LOL

Looks nice... but I doubt that the gains (or lack there of) would justify the price. I could understand if you had a 9-10 sec car & needed to get that last couple of HP out of the setup.. but I don't really see a need for it on 95% of the DSMs out there. Ported 2g mani has ran low 10s (maybe even 9s) on numerous occasions. Also I'd like to know what they're using to fasten it to the turbo? Stock bolts would be too long & prolly wouldn't fit into the holes anyways... would need some sort of stud setup.

What's it made out off? SS bends like to stress relieve A LOT when they heat up (meaning they want to go back to straight)... they tend to pull themselves apart at the welds. All metal does this but SS is like the worst. Your best bet on a header is cast bends but this is highly expensive, especially if you mess up a cut. Plus cast metal isn't all that easy to weld. I'd guess a really nice header made out of cast steel bends would be in the $900 range. That would be the least likely ever to crack in the longrun.

I don't know, it's really pretty but I have real issues with SS headers after having seen one that needed to be welded 800 times and just looks like a giant piece of slag now.

If you guys saw the three month port job (not by me) on the EVO manifold I have sitting in my garage you would forget about headers.

These look like good quality headers. They're available in equal length with or without wastegate flanges and with a stock turbo flange or a T3 flange. I've been exchanging emails with Don over at dnperformace gathering info on these and they're using T304 stainless and 1cm flanges. These guys are a little behind on web development but seem to be competent fabricators. I haven't heard back from them as to what size tubing & wall thickness they use. 304 stainless likes to heat up and crack or get brittle at sustained high temperatures. Unless you're running on the ragged edge of lean this usually isn't a problem. If you are running that high of EGTs you need 321 stainless or in extreme cases inconel tubing, which is ungodly expensive. I'd like to hear from some people who have used this header and hear their opinion of it. The price is reasonable considering a cast T3 or T4 manifold or even a new stock casting. Read up on header design & materials at http://burnsstainless.com/TechArticles/techarticles.html and think how cool your car would look with a stainless header...

Man if I wanted a little Bling Bling under the hood that would be #1 on my list ...... looks great ......wonder how great it will look after the first few times I have to tack weld it when I crack it ?? :D Either way looks great !

I wonder if they'll turn that golden color after a while. My brother-in-law and sister's car (not a DSM) has SS headers and after a while they turned this really cool gold color. Everybody asks them if they're gold plated.

hmmm... well cracking if aliens 3 is any indicator occurs under a rapid temperture change... if there is any sress on Very hot metle it is likely to bend rather than crack. now wraping that with header wrap? good idea or bad idea. perhaps it woudl be a good idea after you turn your car off as it will slow the cooling of the headers and i supose givign your car a minut or 2 to warm up will be benificial as well. i WILL get thes as they are so cool... but i think taking car of them will prevent cracking my .o2
