I Have An Ecu Part # MD166262 Which Was Used From 6-90 Thru 7-92.
I Think It Will Fit Thru 94's. It Is An EPROM Unit.
Can Someone Confirm This? Excuse The Caps As It's Too Early For My Specs! Mark

Confirm what? That it will work in a '94? Yes.
That it is a EPROM ECU? Not without looking inside and verifying that there is in fact an EPROM on the board.

I've seen too many cases where someone switched the covers from a EPROM version (E in the lower right of the sticker) onto to a Masked ROM version.

Hey Steve how's it going? I'm the guy who can't figure out how to place a classified ad! I took this ECU from my '91 AWD 5-speed. I have opened it and it is indeed an EPROM ECU. I have not figured how this could benefit me and my '93 except as a spare as I heard that these things go kaput quite regularly. So yeah my question was for sale purposes as I have it on Buschur's site as I buy quite a bit from them. I thought it would fit from '91 to'94 but was not sure. Thanks.....OH the EPROM in it has E931 on it and it has resistor R129. I'll try to place it here again. (I sold the tranny.) Mark

Considering the age and quality of the capacitors in our ECUs they do go bad. If people don't replace the capacitors they can destroy the ECU. The another typical problem is having a shorted ISC, when that happens the driver chips in the ECU burn up.

A MD166262 EPROM ECU will work well in all 91-94 Turbo MT cars and is highly desired like the rest of the turbo EPROM ECUs because they can be modified to support performance improvements like bigger injectors and larger turbos without the negative side effects of a piggyback device like a SAFC or MAFT. But we've talked about this before.

From the mod list you have in your profile I would think this would be really useful to you.

Steve
