I see guys running stock engine applications w/ stock (or slightly larger) turbos in the 12's, and I was just wondering if anybody had some estimates for what I would be running in the 1/4 mile. My car will be stripped of all dead weight, with the following: 2g block w/ no balance shafts bored .040 over wiseco pistons 8.8:1 compression, balanced & blueprinted rotating assembly, eagle rods, ported and polished head w/ 3 angle valve job, stock intake manifold, 1g throttle body, ported exhaust manifold and o2 housing, big 16g, 3" back exhaust (if full exhaust is run) 650cc injectors, MSD fpr, S-afc fatty fmic (24"x13"x3.5) and hard piping. LSD and slicks coming soon. I originally built the car as a street car but I got my vr4 for a street car and decided the Talon will be going full drag. The car is already stripped and awaiting the powerplant. I am also thinking about running a T3 (50 trim compressor & .48 a/r turbine) with tubular manifold. If anyone could give me some ideas so I would know what I am shooting for it would be great.

Thanks

1 question: can you drive?

That makes all the difference. There's been a guy out at the track all summer here running in the high 16s with a big 16g and race gas.

He flat out can't drive.

I am not saying you can't, but it will all come down to learning to launch and drive the car.

With slicks and race gas, you should be able to get high 11's I would think. I don't know a whole lot about fwds, so I will be conservative.

Someone else can hop in.

Excellent, some input.
And as far as driving, any car I have ever owned, I have been able to launch, and effectively shift though the gears. In other words: consistent rts, and ets. In my own opinion, I launch my VR-4 and my RX-7 pretty well.
And for the guy running a 16g and putting down 16s at the track, that is just unacceptable. With time you will get better (hopefully.) My friend ha a 16g on his 2g eclipse running 13.8s.
I appreciate your input. Any thoughts on ets for the T3?

And don't worry everybody, tuning will be performed on the dyno.

Peace.

You will find fwd very frustrating compared to the awd and rwd cars. I dont claim to be able to launch a fwd car at all. Thats why I don't own one.

Yeah, I've tried to get the guy to launch at a lower rpm and slip the clutch; feather if need be. He just won't listen. His friends think I am lying about running a 14b with 150K+ on the motor and 200K+ on the turbo when I run mid 13's at ~100.
