Has anyone tried one of these intake manifolds yet? He seems like a good guy and they seem like they'd be just as good as any other smim. I got one for $315 shipped from him so we will see how it performs. He said he'd warranty it against cracking and they have been tested and 30 psi was not a problem for them. What do you all think? Worth $315 or no?

yo man i got one 2 can't wait to try it out and see its results..i talked to him alot and he seems like a good straight foward guy..quick shiping and it looks amazing...anyone else run them or hear of them..?... :dsm:
 
its extremely nice quality, but i wonder how much low end is lost, and how much realy power youll gain. The plenum is quit a bit bigger than the magnus, more so like the old venom, actually a real similar style it seems. I dunno, id really love some dyno numbers.
 
I got a few pics of it bolted to my engine in the stand ... can someone host them? They are jpegs and I don't think tuners would allow me to host them on there and I don't have any other place. Thanks.
 
I've known Jim for many years now and he does very high quality work. I'm going to have him make me a T4 manifold for my T66 and I know it will turn out great. Hopefully he'll chime in here to add some insite on the subject. He hasn't had a chance to dyno his car using the intake yet but I wouldn't doubt he'll get around to it before the end of the year. His business has be pretty good lately so he's spent most of his time filling orders.

How did you cop that for 315. The site says 450!
 
I'm also waiting to see some dyno #'s. If they look good then I'll probly get one as well. I love everything else I've gotten from him. All very high quality, some of my favorite purchases :) He's also doing my buddies roll cage in a week, I can't wait to see how that turns out.
 
He sold a few of the older models on ebay that all the corners of the plenum are welded, as where he now bends them for fewer weld spots.
 
Thanks to all for the compliments, they are greatly appreciated. If only I had those dyno numbers, im sure my sales would be double, but unfortunatly at this time I havnt gotten around to it. I do have track numbers is thats a factor to anyone. My setup is a 93 AWD, FP Green, BR fmic, my own piping, 3" turboback, 2gmas, afc, stock head, stock cams, stock 125k 7 bolt and trans. With the stock intake manifold i went a best of 11.9@116, then i threw on one of my regular intakes with no velocity stacks, i went 11.7@118, than I made a model with velocity stacks inside, went 11.55@121. Im sure with a little more tuning and some HKS 272s, i could be down in the low 11s. This was all on C16 and 25psi. I personally didnt notice much of a low end loss, but I also dont drive the car on the street everyday. Im sure the low end loss is greater then the Magnus, but not as bad as the Venom, the plenum size is in between those 2. When I first started making them the plenums were welded in 4 peices, since then I was able to purchase some new equipment, not I can press bend them elminating alot of the welds, so you may have seen some of them on ebay alot cheaper, they were either used/demos or the older style. Within the next 2 weeks im going to stop selling the models W/O stacks, and make them all with stacks. I havnt had much interest in them W/O stacks. The pricing will be less as well. yea that's why the price difference. I for 1 think the welded plenum doesn't look bad at all. The welds are VERY nicely done. As soon as I find a place to host pics I will put some up of it bolted to my engine. :thumb:

That doesn't make it right, I just don't have 2 months straight or more to sit thru and deleted all the gallery pictures of just parts.
 
it would be easier to allow people to post pics of anything car related, but a certain amount of pics, or a certain storage size. But email me the pics, ill host em off my pic host.

thanks for all the comments guys ... I'll post up some more pics of the engine once its all assembled before I drop it in and then again when it's in the car. :thumb:
