Timing Jumped...Piston Damage?

SOunds like you can assume they at least hit, as to how bad that can be, they can be just a small ding or at worst a cracked piston. You can't know until you pull the head and look.
 
most likely no, but I have seen crazy shit. Car that came to the shop recently had a valve lodged in a piston, rediculous looking shit, I'll try to get a pic.
 
Had it happen 2 times. Both times I only needed new valves and guides. But the only way to tell for sure is to pull the head.

How many miles on the car now? If it was done recently, apparently everything wasn't done right. Have a qualified mechanic do it next time. OR, buy ALL new parts, don't skimp out and try to re-use an auto-tensioner, or a belt, etc.
 
what rpm did it break or skip at, becuase if it was idle or low rpm like 1500 then your pistons will be fine. If it was higher rpm then it could have snapped the valves right off. If your rocker arms were broke, i would say most likely it was higher rpm and its most likely your pistons are gonna be pretty bad. I had mine break on idle and pistons were barely even dinged, you could barely tell they were touched. I had one break at 3k and a valve broke and pounded itself into the piston and the cylinder head doesnt even have a hole for a spark plug anymore

There 68k on the car now. I bought ALL new parts ALSO, and the guy owns a DSM and knows a lot of shit about them.
