Sourcing Exhaust Manifold Studs

Would it be okay to replace broken exhaust manifold studs with bolts from a local hardware store or autozone? Or would it really require new studs?

as long as the stud isn't broken off inside the head you should be able to use a bolt that's the right size. A bolt won't hold as well as a stud though so you might get an exhaust leak over time. of course if you're missing a stud then anything is better.

I was going to point out ssstuds also, I picked up one of their sets and was very happy with it. I'd pick up a #8 tap with .125 pitch to clean up the holes though. The new studs wouldn't even fit without retapping the holes.
