Well since my oil pump seized and cracked a ring, a shortblock with the eagle/wiseco combo should be going in. With this obviously comes the option to run a much bigger turbo safely (well I mean who wouldn't run a big turbo on a built motor?)

Anyway, my question is, since i'll probably be running some variant of a 50 trim so ill be running probably 660's or bigger. I've got the logger/safc setup right now, and I know anything above 550's is going to take a lot of correction.

So do you think i'll still be alright with the safc/logger setup? I mean i'd buy a nice ems like dsm link (i have a 1g obviously), or AEM EMS (too expensive for me), but i'm trying to go budget as I can. I'll probably throw a MAFT in the equation for better tuning if needed. So does anything have an opinion on a setup that won't cost alot or should I stick with what i'm thinking of doing?

Jeff can get you a chip to compensate for your larger injectors and some other goodies too.

Go to www.fullthrottlespeed.com and check out the "Scanmaster". I plugs into the diagnostic port and has a box that mounts on the dash, about the size of a radar detector, and it reads knock, timing, l-m-h trim and dozens more pieces of data to aid tuning. I have it and it's awesome. I am giving my Palm away even though it will accept a palm. It has made my tuning a no brainer! I love it. I almost want to sell my wideband 02 meter! Mark

Did you even read the post? He is not talking about datalogging, he is talking about fuel control...

As someone mentioned, contact Jeff (www.dsmchips.com) if you want to do it the easy way... but, you may have to have your ECU socketed, that is, if it's an EPROM. Otherwise, wait for the 1G dsmlink to come out and you'll be all set!

OK, I got it now. i thought you were going to tune with the safc. i use the GM MAF-Translator to tune the fuel and it is also a great device. It first allows 5% adjustmens and then you switch to 2% and add/sub that from the original 5% tunig ou have done. Works great and if you go with it you are looing at $199. for the Translator, around $50. for a GM MAF and then how you install the maf. draw through is simpe an cheap. I went with draw thru and that is what i use. mark

Yeah, I wasn't really sure about the whole dsmchips thing 'cause it was so new. Then again, i've heard nothin but good things from them. Thanks for the input guys. I guess i'll be going with the safc/dsmchips/datalogger setup.

:thumb: DSM Chip. Stage 3: Studder box, no lift shift, read knock off old boost gauge, compensation for 660's, compensation for 2gmaf.....these are just a few off the top of my head.
