need turbo!

I'm a little new to the whole dsm thing. my roommate has a '97 tsi and he convinced me to buy a '91 laser. i like the car alot but now i want it to go faster. some people are telling me its not worth converting a nt to a t. if i just want to put a stock 14b turbo in, what do i have to do and is it worth it. i'm not sure if i need to change my compression or not.

Do you have the 1.8 or the 2.0 motor?

it takes alot of money to convert a non turbo to a turbo. it isnt really worth it if you are only putting a 14b in it either. i would get something bigger, but that means doing some other modifications too. if you want good horsepower fast and cheap, go get some nitrous. cheapest big gain there is, in my opinion. good luck with whatever you decide.

If you have a non-turbo 1G, it is probably cheaper to sell yours and buy a 1G Turbo for $2k-$4k
