any exhaust shop should be able to bend up some pipes for you. or you could go to jcwhitney and buy some mandrel bends and if you have access to a welder make them yourself.

exactly. I went the JC whitney route which was very cheap since a friend had a welder, and most exhaust shops don't have a mandrel bender.

Just order some pipces from dejon tool or AGP.

Most front mounts are mounted close enough where you can make it work.

I asked the custom exhaust shop around here the same question. For 2½" or 2¼", all mandrel bent piping, complete intercooler hard-pipe kit (for the factory side-mount) they would charge me $325 installed. That is turbo to TB. I wouldnt mind paying that at all.

If you bring the supplies to a welding shop, they will most likely charge you just for labor, I dont think they will charge you for welding rods or gas, etc. Depends on the shop, call RRE or Dejon and ask them how long it should take to install the parts, and let the shop know that. That way they cant tell you its a 4 hour job, and RRE (people that know what theyre talking about) says it only takes 1½ hours. Hope that helps :thumb:

edit: They also said that if I supplied a reasonably sized FMIC they could install that too. These guys are really good, I recommend them for all exhaust work around my town.

i got all mandrel bend 2.5" piping in mild steel on ebay for cheap. connectors and t-bolt clamps from a trucking company. dave brode turbo outlet pipe. Some forced performance hump connectors. hks throttle body elbow. spearco i/c. all custom and I have $600 into it all easy. t-bolt clamps are expensive. I only had to get bov flange welded and 1 pipe. different for you, but it's easy on 1g's.

Show off...

Have you thought of putting any form of heat resistant wrap around the IC piping right over your turbo manifold? Looks like that would draw a little bit of warm air. Unless it is cooled by the time it hits the TB...personaly I would try to keep my intake air as cool as possible.

yeah, I was going to put the wrap on, but then i figured i'd really be showing off  I simply put pics up to show how simple it is. I'll post pics of my friend's starion setup on his 1g soon. Stock sidemount isn't a restriction however for TEL guys. A guy w/ 2g and same fuel/turbo/tuning as me ran a 12.6 - that's pretty good. There's more potential beyond that too.

Low brow humor is a little hard to sense over teh internet, sleepyvr4 I am sure he was just jokin. I love your car, but how come the vr4 didn't get the silly bump in the hood?

I did, bought some mandresl bends, couplers, and t-bolt clamps off eBay and did some cutting:

Not the best, but I think I am going to re-do it and weld everything instead of using crappy couplers.

All aluminum piping is the only way to go, especially after being polished :bling: I ran 2.5 lower, 3in upper. Bit more expensive for the bends though..
