MY birthday is aproaching soon and my buddy wants to get me a MSD box just the basic box, and a 2 step. will this work on my car and would it be worth it? I need some serious help when it comes to launching!

You may not realize much of a power gain from it, and you really don't need it a your point of upgrades, but the two step rev-limiter can make for a killer launch.

If you want launchin help, check out www.tmo.com since you have the 95 Eprom computer.

$300 gets you a stage 3 upgrade I think, read up on it on their site, you can set your rev limiter to work at 4500,5000, 5500, or 6000 when the clutch is pressed AKA Stutterbox.

The TMO 2 step causes the ECU to read knock and retard timing. Also from what I have heard there is no more orders being taken by TMO.

TWITCH: The MSD really does help your launching. However it really isn’t all that useful beyond that. You really cant beat a stock ignition setup. There are cheaper 2 steps out there look at them first and see if that money cant be better spent elsewhere.

Guys,

I am using TMO for launching and MDS for shifting. TMO engages at the bottom clutch switch. Perfect for launch control. MDS is hooked up to my upper clutch switch (used for cruise control).

So my launch RPM varies from 4000-6000 while my shif RPMs is set around 6500. They work great together. But I will agree that not everyone NEEDs such set-up...

Well since it's free I guess why not. Although I'm not a fan of MSD products (believe me I have my reasons  ). Maybe your friend should just take you out to Red Lobster or something.

If you must get something for the car to improve your launch/traction I'd sugguest some motor mounts. Later you can drop in a better clutch, new shocks, and throw on a pair of slicks. But you need more power first there buddy.

that is awesome just wondering once you get your ECU back can you adjust your launch control? or do you tell them what you want and only they car set it? my point is what If I dont know what the best RPM is to launch at? or what I should set my revlimiter at? If I order there kit once I get it what would it take to change things? would I have to send them back the ECU to have them change things?:(

Do I need a laptop for this to work I was going to get a pocketlogger soon and was wondering if It would be useless If I bought this ECU upgrade
