How much hp is safe with a Walbro 255?

Okay, I'm getting all sorts of figures from the search function; 400hp, 500hp, even 600hp. I'm intending on using a -6an feed, -6an return, 780cc injectors, AEM rail, AEM FPR. I am aiming for ~450hp on pump gas and ~500+ on race gas with a 50 trim. Will the 255 suffice for now or do I need to go big? Thanks!

255 will do it easy as pie.
 
I'm at 549 whp with just a rewired regular 255 lph walbro and 880s and stock everything else in the fuel system and it's not running out yet so you will be fine and save your money for other more important things. Fuel systems are always underrated.

I think I've heard that the setup you have is good for 1000cc injectors. Just what I've heard.
 
I believe the 255 has been rated around 500-550 horsepower, but many people have taken it beyond this with relatively no problems. Dsmtrance is pushing right at 500hp with his 255/720cc combo. The fuel pump's doing good thus far.

Eh? 1000cc? Please explain.
 
the 255 "high pressure" is good for around 500 to 525. After that you will need to add an external. Running the -6 fuel lines will help. The problem is that any little voltage drop when your running up in the hp range will be taking a chance in leaning out... So my opinion better safe than sorry on the fuel

MSD also makes a Fuel Pump Voltage Booster, but I'm not sure on the details.
