how do i run off just the ext wastegate?

how do i hook up the hoses on my tial 40mm to run just off the wastegate and eliminate the boost controller all together?? I have a top nipple and bottom nipple on the ext gate, so what do i hook them up to?

Just run the side of the gate(i guess you call this the bottom) to the compressor housing, or in your case, run it to the lower intercooler pipe which I think you tapped a hole in already? That should be give you just the spring pressure of the wastegate. If you are not seeing 15lbs, ( I think you said you have like a 1.0bar spring) then you have other issues.

If you don't have a tap on your lower IC piping, T off of the BOV line... I did that for a while untill my EBC came after I sold my MBC. -- but yeah, leave the top connection unused.

my god im such an idiot.. all this time i had my wastegate hooked up backwards.. I was envisioning top and bottom of the wastegate on a horizontal view like bottom was closer to the bottom of the car and top was closer to the hood.. I was never looking at the gate itself to figure out top/bottom.

Anyhow I now have a line coming off the bottom of the gate going to a T between the IM and BOV. I ran the car and it goes up to 7psi and thats it.. It just figures, looks like I have the 0.5 bar spring in my wastegate. I just ordered the 1.0 bar spring for it now, should have it soon.

After I get this thing situated and get the wastegate to open at 15psi instead of 7 Im going to toss a mbc on it and see it that works better then my Greddy has been working.

well it was hooked up kinda right back then..it just didnt have the hose on the bottom of the top of the gate back then which you really should ahve with the profec..

was something screwy with that now that you mention it. Have you gotten over that hurdle now????

yeah.. its hooked up right now.. now the problem is the wastegate is opening right at 0.5 bar.. about 7psi.. I ordered a new spring for it so im just waiting for that to come..

I'm not sure but I think if you run a line into the top port it will give you more boost without a controller. I'm just not sure how much.

yeah.. if you just run the line off the top of the gate instead of just a line off the bottom the boost is insane.. it went to 2.0 bar almost immediately when I let off the throttle
