It depends on what model car the engine came from. if it came from a evo III you will probably have a 16g. beyond that i don't know.
 
Yes, most will come with 14b's. You could poss. get a 16g from either a lancer III or a jdm galant which also came with the 16g/510cc

Its a fat chance though...
 
one ting i noted from there site was it said "does not include MAF sensor, Ignitor chip" will i be able to use the ones of my current engine for will i have to get some JDM ones

PS: i know i sound like a noob, but i can get a faster answer from you guys then i can from the website
 
Hey please email me about the process and how your swap and installation went through this company, because I am looking around for more information and prices about doing a JDM 4G63T swap for my 95 Eclipse GS. So far I have been quoted 4500-5000 for the complete swap and installation of the engine with all the necessary parts for the conversion. I was also told I would be getting a 14B Turbo on it as well as a SMIC.
 
Before ordering it from them try to find a Galant VR-4, You can probaly pick one up for the same price with out shipping
 
They are going to send you whatever they have. Hopefully you would know how to tell a 14B from a 16G but you won't know until you get it and look at the compressor wheel. Also you can tell which injectors it has by the color of the plugs, I think they are either black or orange if they are 510s but blue is for sure 450s.
 
-Do they offer warranty on their motor? I went to some of this vendors/importers around here to check out there inventories, some of these motors are in bad shape, some interior had been bleached to make them look well maintained. Good luck.
 
If you had an engine that would be gone after 30K miles would you take it easy on it? Or even change the oil? Hmmm...
 
Batman is right....Id be pretty skeptical to buy a jdm motor. Although I did for my Honda, I got to check it out first. The 510cc inj. have yellow tops on them, my friend just got one of the jdm galant motor with the 16g on it in great shape. This was aftetr searching for quite a while though.
 
I bought two JDM motors. :)

One was a freak, I abused the piss out of it. Pistons/ring lands still look perfect. WTF? I wanted to see chunks missing. Of course with a 14B and 18G it's really hard to really break anything. That was back in my experimental days, home hacked MAF sensors, wastegates with no signal, pump gas, stock injectors/fuel system, no AFC. I don't know how the engine lived through all that.

The latest one, I just wanted something to build upon so I'm not worried about how it was treated before me. It's still in my garage waiting for me to get up off my ass and work on it.

BUT I have also seen JDM engines with 120psi compression in every hole and bent valves from being downshifted into the rev limiter by our crazy Japanese friends.

You can get lucky and score a good 30K motor but you can also get unlucky and end up with something that was brutalized, beaten to death.
 
I would definitely get the shop to do a compression test on the motors first before you make payment. Do they offer a "Start up" warranty?

Heck, you never know what you can get with JDM motors. My bud bought a B18c Honda motor and found that it came with a perfectly good 6 puck clutch with lots of material left on it and a JUN lightened flywheel.

BTW, Batman, where did you purchase your motors from? I'm looking for a motor for a buildup as well...JDM or not. Thanx!
 
I got the galant VR4 RS engine with 510cc and 16G for $800 at a junkyard. Just finished the swap into my mirage, started right up. Although I doubt it had less than 30k on it, I am happy with what I got for the price.
