Ok well a month and half ago i blew my motor threw a rod and it over heated on me on my old 7 bolt. so i threw in a brand new 6 bolt with a bunch of supporting mods to go with it to hold up to my brand new 50 trim, so i got a built 6 bolt bottom end with a 2g top end, with a metal head gasket, so now everything is in the car runs great but is smoking like a biatch out the exhaust runs reall good just smokes allot. So we thought it was a head cracked from it over heating on me when i threw the rod so replaced it and it still is smoking really bad so any ideas what could be going on i know it cant be the turbo its brand spanking new so any clue and not the head gasket i have a 100 dollor headgasket on it soo if any ideas would be helpfull thanks a bunch

did you get new valve stem seals for your new head?, does the smoke smell like oil?
who built the motor? are you using factory pistons & rings or aftermarket?
it could be the valve stem seals leaking oil into the cylinder, which can cause quite a bit of smoke to come out of the tailpipe. Anyone else have suggestions?

the information that you've posted is bassakwards to me. you said stemarmotorsports is the one doing the swap? I thought it was already done, and now the motor that you have is making alot of smoke. I'll just leave this one alone, hopefully someone more capable of diagnosing this with the given informations can help you.

yeah we tunned it, it runs awsome, idels great, boost reall well pulls hard everything is good it just smokes like a biatch, i have Greddy large frontmount,UIP,Greddy type s BOV, Injen intake,Apexi N1 downpipe, Apexi N1 catback, No cat, 8.5 Plug wires,190 Fuel pump,Apexi SAFC II,Apexi AVCR, NX Intercooler Chiller,660 Injectors, slowboy racing 50 trim, brand new 6 bolt swap, new pistons ARP studs, metal headgasket, brand new 2g head with new gaskets seals everything. ACT 2100 clutch, DNP tubular manifold, i thinks thats it i cant think of anything off the top of my head yet

How long has it been smoking? When you replace a head gasket it smokes for awhile. Or could be turbo seals are worn. P.S. where you get your 6 bolt and did you install in?

We thought the same thing and took my old head off from when i did over heat it and it was warped but then we put a new one on and replaced everything that we could in the new head so its brand new soo i don't think it could be the head... but thanks guys for all the info

you can have a million dollar headgasket in and that doesnt mean it cant cause the problem...a good HG is only part of what it takes to get a good seal.

do a compression test and if that comes out normal that do a leak down and pinpoint the problem.

I agree....do a compression test and see what that is first to see if the hea gasket is leaking. Prolly not the rings though. White smoke usually means antifreeze, oil usually burns a blueish color. I would guess it is the head or head gasket.

Did not see anyone mention new turbos and new motors do not work real well together! You should always break a new motor in on a used turbo.

MGH

Exactly what I was thinking.

New motors eat oil, you wouldn't want to starve your brand new turbo now would you? First make sure your not beating the hell out of your newly built engine and give it a propper break in, unless you've already done so.

I'd run a compression test to make sure everything is in spec/rings are seaeted properly.
