hey guys

I just got my new bov installed with a dejon uicp. It sounds great but I'm having a few problems.

1. The bov will always flutter no matter what. I had it set so it would only flutter at like 2 or 3 psi but i just loosened it so i don't damage anything until I find out for sure. My question is someone(i think it was batmangsx) on here said that if you connect the lower nipple it gets rid of the fluttering and the valve opens quicker. I looked on the vfaq but i didn't understand what they meant by "the smaller nipple may be spliced into the turbo outlet pipe or into the line between the turbo and wastgate actuator." I know where the WG actuator is but where do i tee in? there is a little hose going from the WG actuator that tees into a line just below it which looks like it goes from the turbo compressor housing to what i think is the stock boost control.( its the thing where one of the vacuum lines also goes to the intake on the side closest to the bumper)

Is this where I tee in and will it help my fluttering at all?

2. When I installed my bov and uicp the bov is now angled towards the intake. I really can't adjust it at all and it doesn't seem to affect anything but my recirc hose was getting a little kinked. I cut it so it does not kink but now it pops off from time to time. Should i just get a radiator hose from napa or does anyone have another recommendation?

Other than that it performs great, pretty big increase in power. The boost shot up to 15 psi also. Is this safe for the stock fuel system? I'm gonna finish building my boost controller tommorrow to turn it down to 14 just in case.

Sorry for the long post but i just want to make sure its running right

Thanks:)

i hooked up the other line and the boost shot up to 23 psi!!!

I don't have a boost controller, could this be the problem?

And despite hooking it up, the $%^#%#& thing still flutters

and it has a really high pitched whistle, not a turbo spool. There is a video floating around with an all-trac celica with a greddy type s. Isn't tit supposed to sound like that?

any help would be appreciated

thanks

sorry one last thing.

I'm currently spiking to 18 and settling down at 15. I ordered a boost controller so as soon as it comes it'll be turned down to 14. Until then do i risk any damage to anything?

I think i have it adjusted properly tho. It lets out a nice sounds now not a high pitched whistle, and it doesn't leak any boost. But it still flutters at low boost( 1-4 psi at most)

Is this bad?

Thanks

P.S. Big power Improvement :D

I wouldnt worry, 15psi is ok for your stock system. I would do a rewire or something though, but htats just me. The fluttering is kinda typical between cars when they are running low boost like that. If your BOV is set for a muc higher boost level you will hear the wastgate flutter a tiny bit as the tension is stiff for that little amount of boost. My stock bov does that, and my brothers blitz bov does that but only at like 1-3 psi and you can barely hear it.

As for the kink. Mine was like that also. My bov is on my lower ic pipe that connects to the FMIC. I have abs and the pipe that I was given with the flange on it wouldnt fit at all with the bov so I had to run it on the lower on or buy another pipe (im cheap:thumb: ). When I went to recirc it the hose would kink very badly. My solution was just getting some of the stock (or any hose clamps will do) hose clamps andputting them on the part of the hose that bends to strengthen the radius, thus keeping it perfectly round. I only had to use two clamp one on each side about 2" away from where it was kinking and it solved it perfectly. Good luck...

thanks for the replys. As long as i'm not damaging anything its cool. For the kink i just cut the hos a little on each side and it fits much better

Thanks for the replys guys :)
