the nipple on the right is the return or supply for the oil cooler on 2gs, i am replacing mine with an air cooler, so i wont need this nipple, instead of just pluging it could i remove the nipple and tap a place for my water temp sender?

cool, on a side not, what does this housing do, that is, is it flowing cooled or uncooled coolant, i guess the question is does the water flow from bottom to top or top to bottom of the radiator?

uncooled. i suggest you tap the thermostat housing for a reading of whats going into the engine.

ah ok, so i shoudl tap in a place so i know how cool the water is goign into the engine? ok ill reivaluate.

one thing, it you look where the stock temp sensor is loacated in the same cavity as the one that i originaly sugested taping the sendor into. wouldnt i want to put my sendor seeing the same temp as the ecu sees? Wouldnt the cabity where the thermostat is be the one with hot water as this is the one that will open when there is, well, hot water?

On a 1G the sensors for thermostat housing are as follows:

Lower half thermostat housing.
#1 = ECU sensor
#2 = Gauge sensor

Upper half thermostat housing.
#3 = AC sensor
not marked = overflow

#4 = ?Heater hose connection.....This is where I tapped in for my aftermkt gauge. :thumb:
